Hopefully yours will last longer than mine. The plug that they use is unnecessarily heavy and the vibration broke the connection within my detector. I took it apart and glued, soldered and reinforced the receptacle, and that restored functionality, but then about a month later the unit just quit working. I verified that it wasn't the detector, so something went tango uniform in the display.

I have one of those and have been using it for years without a problem.
