Hey there guys and gals, I'm running an unofficial ABS poll on a couple of different motorcycle forums.  I apologize if on this particular forum there is already a similar thread running or I am violating some other forum rule.

This poll consists of one question:

Assume that you are about to purchase a new motorcycle.  There are two motorcycles that are identical in every single way exception of one motor cycle having ABS and a $1000 increase in MSRP.  Which motorcycle do you buy?

I know that there are a lot of factors that go into a motorcycle purchase and even a high number of factors in the ABS or non ABS equation that this question does not account for.  Please just choose the answer that would most likely apply to you.

I guess it depends what price range we're talking about.  Would I pay $5000 when the non-ABS could be had for $4000, probably not.  On the other hand, would I skip the ABS to take a $14000 bike down to $13000, probably not.  I got a killer deal on my bike used with ABS and now that I've had it, I don't know that I'll go back.  I also don't think it's really a $1000 MSRP option.  $500, maybe, tops.

My first ABS bike was an R1150 RT in which ABS was standard, likewise my current R1200GS. I did however pay the extra $800 for ABS on my last Harley-Davidson. It rains a lot up here and ABS is very handy in the wet.

I'll never own another bike without ABS, don't care what it costs.

I think 1000 is probably a bit high, but I voted yes anyway.

Agreed for the most part. I'm pleased to see ABS show up on a bike like the CBR250 but $1000 premium would kill it at that price point. It's a little easier to swallow on  $12,000 bike.

I think it's worth the $100.  Use it once and I it saves you it gas paid for itself.
