Just heard of this brand Royal Purple from a guy I work with. He's an amateur rally racer and can't say enough good things about this oil. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Yay or Nay, why or why not?

Yay? http://www.royalpurple.com/techi/whyrpi.html

Nay? http://www.performancemotoroil.com/Royal_Purple_info.html

It's $6 and a half bucks a quart at the local Wal-Mart and more online so it's either really good, or it's the Mercedes C series of oils.

I have been using it for a few changes now and I Dino tuned with it. You ONLY want to use R.P. Max Cycle. I doubt seriously if they carry it at Walmart. It runs me $10. a quart. I don't know how it compairs to Repsol, Silkolene etc. But most any high performance bike oil is going to be around that price point. You definitely want to use only the synthetics that are formulated for motorcycles. Thumbsup

If Royal Graple does indeed contain Moly in significant amounts (as stated in one of your links above), then it may be unwise to use it in wet clutch equipped motorcycles.

Royal Purple isnt a bad oil but there are better oils out there.
But i would be wary of the moly in the clutch as was previously mentioned.
I prefer Amsoil myself.
However if cost is your main criteria you can get synthetic Shell Rotella.
