Route Assistance Needed: Alabama to Virginia

Looks like I am going to Prince George, VA for a week of training in mid-September. Thinking about taking the bike. I can get myself from Alabama to about Asheville, NC or so, but after that my knowledge of the area is a bit shaky. I need some help with route planning the rest of the way into Prince George, VA.

Looking for fun roads, but I do have a destination in mind. Can’t dally around with every little twisty that bats her eyes at me. But I will have three days, so some dancing is in order.

421 north out of Boone NC up to Shady Valley.  Known as "the Snake".  From Shady Valley, head to Damascus and pick up 58 heading east towards Galax VA.
