A counter balancer is fitted to the gimbal like device that is used on a waterboard. It allows for the prone subject to remain in a head down position, but also to be quickly elevated if they wish to give certain information to their interrogator and so avoid an unsettling feeling akin to drowning.
That same experience is well known to members of ST.n and referred to as the "raj effect".
