Heh.  I dont think his retirement comes as a big surprise to anyone but a sad day nonetheless.  Class act indeed.  So long 65.

I was hoping to see his 100th podium.  Then he signed with Pramac.  Sad

Thanks for the memories, Loris.  frickin 20+ years of GP racing, of which I sadly only watched half.  But still.  WTG, and thanks for making 2006 a really exciting season to watch.

Man, he's been around forever.  Dogboy, you're right, he's a class act and a stud.   Thumbsup Thumbsup   Cool

Think of all the different race bikes he's ridden in about a hundred different classes!

There was an article in BIKE about a year ago where the concept was that a journalist took an instructional track day with Loris.   Crazy Bigok

Now, this journalist is a guy who rides motorcycles every day for a living.  He described riding as fast as he ever had in his life after a bit of work from #65.  And then, at the end of the day, he's chasing Loris, personally flat out, fast as he can...

and Capirossi is leading him through a left-hander, apexing and letting the bike drift out to the edge of the track...

while Loris is not watching where he's going.  He's turned around on the seat to watch this journalist's line!  Lol   Truly, a gifted rider.    Hail Hail
