AMA Pro Road Racing FINALE - NJMP - **SPOILERS**
«
on:
September 02, 2011, 12:11:09 PM »
Four AMA Pro Road Racing championships have come down to the last round. Not unusual with just eight rounds but still makes for an exciting weekend with all the marbles on the table in each class. Daytona Sportbike would seem to be closest thing to a lock with Eslick enjoying a big points lead. However, DSB might also be the least predictable class in m/c road racing. So many potential winners and a whole host of people able to place in the top ten that
only a fool
would make a prediction. I'm predicting Eslick.
Other interesting developments include Jason DiSalvo and Latus Motors Racing team dropping the Ducati 848 for a Triumph Daytona 675 this round. Taylor Knapp riding a second Buell 1190rr and KTM announcing a full season effort for 2012 with at least one bike. To finish up, lets not forget
the next President of the United States
at the back of the superbike grid.

No poop? I'd like to hear the reasoning behind that.
Wasn't it a Triumph ride that DiSalvo walked away from last year?

Reading other boards, Ducati didn't provide any assistance to Latus Motors Racing and Triumph is willing to help on some level. Whatever the reason, its good to see a front running team hook with another manufacturer.

Really looking forward to this weekend's race at NJMP. I'm sure Josh Hayes and Blake Young will be on each other all weekend with Tommy Hayden running blocker in an attempt to ensure a Yosh championship this year. Post race interviews should be interesting
Looking forward to seeing how far Rapp can take the Kawasaki. However, I'm still a little baffled as to what happened in the split with SD BMW..Miles? I enjoyed watching him beat Pegram on a consistent basis
..and of course the Sportbike class, I'm not going to bet against Eslick, but I'm guessing there will be rubbing, and Herron will be involved....again
..so if Eslick and Herron continue from last year, that will open the door for Cameron to achieve his first victory ... fun to speculate, yes?

Day 1 in the books. DSB awesome as usual. Supersport results show how deep the talent pool in the US is. The top two kids (one just turned 16 a few weeks ago) were turing front-running DSB times.
Superbike was all about experience vs. youth. Loved seeing Rapp finish well. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Just finished watching the first superbike race. What a bunch of Schmucks in the Yosh camp. WTF were they thinking?
They may have just thrown the championship away.
Team orders or not, Tommy Hayden took a meaningless podium (had no effect on his standings in the championship) by beating his teammate and not keeping his brother at bay. When Blake was behind him, Tommy should have let him by and slowed Roger up a bit. Take one for the team.
Instead, he finishes in the same exact spot in the championship he would have anyway and totally fucked up his team.
I'm shaking my head.

Sunday: DSB was fantastic as usual but the Superbike race fooking rocked! I'm saving it to watch again this winter.

Haven't watched the races but I'm stoked to see where the two EBR 1190's finished in race two. Finishing that high up the latter in only the second race weekend has got to give them some good momentum to carry on through the off season.

Great racing in New Jersey
Never thought I'd want to go to New Jersey to see a race. Might have to go next year.
The reason that Tommy did not give his teammate any extra positions is because Suzuki has not signed Tommy for next year and Tommy was trying to get the best possible position for himself.
I would have done the same thing.
They explained that during the race.

The best possible position for himself was taking his team out of the championship and handing the title to Yamaha, huh?
you are obviously as dumb as he is.

Well
Obviously you didn't LISTEN to the broadcast closely enough. Russell and Ralph Shaheen explained it well.
anyways Suzuki has had enough titles and Josh Hayes is a great rider that has had a lot of hard knocks on the way to the top. Congrats to Josh on his Superbike Championship.

True, I missed the part where they explained how the best thing Tommy Hayden could do for his career is race his teammate out of a championship.
if the entire field crashed out of the race and he was the only bike to finish he would have finished in exactly the same place in the championship.
Did you watch the race or only listen to Ralph Shaheens comments?

Since there is a good chance that Tommy Gun is going to the #23 MJ motorsports team I don't think it matters what happened in Jersey.
Tommy gave the 22 bike a hell of a ride in his final 2 races with Yoshi Suzuki
