Martha and I rode the C-14 ride today to check the route sheet and GPS file and all is fine and ready for October 9. It took us 3 ½ hours to ride the route. There is only 3 gas station along the route and there is a 95 mile stretch between gas station.

The food at THE TREAT is good and reasonable price. Martha had NY Strip and I had ½ BG Chicken and our bill was less that $24.00.

Hope to see you on the 9th.

I was riding south from Shippensburg through the mountains early this afternoon (Shippensburg Rd, 233, 234, ect.) and saw several couples on C14's. Might have passed you at one point. I was on a black FZ6 with a plain white helmet. Great day for a ride! Hope the weather is as beautiful on the 9th.

Heads up that Oct 9th is also the final day of the Apple Harvest Festival near Arendtsville. Not sure if that's on your route, but there are a lot of nice roads in apple country. I don't think they close any roads for the festival, but you can expect traffic to be much heavier than normal. 234 especially gets jam packed. I would avoid it between Rt. 30 and Rt. 34.

I'll have a better idea if I can make it as we get closer to the date.  But I've added it to my calendar!   Thumbsup

One of my main riding buddies rides a GSX-R (unfortunately  Lol) so he may have to bring along a gas can just in case.

Sunday were riding the 1995 C10 that has 238,000 miles on it and it is still lots of fun to ride.

You don't need to worry about the apple fest at South Mountain Fairground. I learned that 18 year ago you don't take ride up route 234 the 1st and 2nd weekend in October.

Ride takes to near Smithburg, Buchanan, White Tail, Big Pool, Licking Creek, Harrisonburg, Fannettsburg, Upper Strasburg and then to Shippensburg.

The ride is 145 miles long and Sunday we were behind another Vehicle for only 45 mile that mean we had open road for 100 miles of fun.

Shippensburg. Not sure if I will be attending yet. I may be in the Philly area that weekend. If I can, I'll probably swing right through Gettysburg on the way down.

Hey, the wife and I will be there. It will be on our way back to NY from Hagerstown after doing a couple of passport stops for my other club on Saturday. We'll meet your at union bridge, ride part of the way to Shippensburg before breaking off on the slab to NY.

Jason and Robert glad you had a good time.
I have 4 friend that I try to find new road for them and they said that I found at least 6 new road.
You have to remember these guy I have been riding with any where for 15 to 36 year and I still find something new and fun to ride.

Jason I here you were getting the Hawk off the ground about 18" on some of the whoops.
They told me that Brian on the C14 was about 6 to 8 inch over the whoops.

The group that was with me rode about 60 mile without seeing any cars.

Russell/Martha,  thank you the beautiful ride. Wish we had more time to do the entire route... the good new is that I have the route sheet so I may decide to ride back one of these days and do the entire route.... it was nice meeting the rest of the gang as well.  See on the road.
