Sounds like some good changes...

In what looks to be the first photos of the new Kawasaki ZX-14, we also get a glimpse of some of the basic features that the new hypersport will boast in 2012, namely a 1429cc motor, anti-lock brakes, Kawasaki’s traction control system, and rider-selectable engine maps. As for looks…ZX-10R owners will be pleased. Photos after the jump, and if you read what appears to be Japanese, help us out with a translation in the comments

Of course if they make it faster than the Busa, Suzuki will need to come out with a Gen3 Lol

Displacement bump to 1441cc (longer stroke) - I was really hoping it'd look a little more different than the year before.  Oh well.

Other 2012 models are now online too.  Looks like new colors for Ninja 1000 and C14.

Yeah, this is a warmover.

-  .8 longer wheelbase,  Thumbsdown

-  18 lbs heavier compared to 2010,  Thumbsdown

-  stiffer springing and damping in front and rear,  Thumbsup

-  traction control,  Thumbsup

-  slipper clutch,  Thumbsup  Thumbsup

-  engine power modes, meh

-  NO ABS?!?  Although there's a sensor ring on the front, dunno what that's about,  Thumbsdown Thumbsdown

Not a compelling rework for me, sorry.  No ABS or fully integrated electronics is a deal-breaker.

Wimp, you must not know how to brake.  If you're an expert rider on a race track and there's no gravel, oil, wet spot, manhole cover, pavement changes, or painted lines you can stop in 4-5 less feet from 100+mph if your bike doesn't have abs.

I'm disappointed too.  ABS would have been nice, even as an option.  No hard bags, no significant changes except for hp and changed seat shape.  They say R is for revolution but it seems more like evolution and one up the 'busa.  No compelling reason to upgrade for me.

Looks like I'm buying a used or leftover instead.  Nothing compelling enough to go after the new one.

You know that gain is all in the mufflers.
Which most people ditch immediately for something loud.  Just like Harley owners.

I like!  Thumbsup Bigok Inlove  Blue or black for me please.  Although it'll be a year or two before I can get one, I still got many miles to put on my 2K8, one of these babies WILL one day be in my garage.
