Been going there the last few years, always a good time - and very, very laid back compared to MotoGP.  Attended on Saturday this time instead of Sunday.  Had a great time with my son.

Caught one one the bike stunt shows

Never be without your motorcycle

Nice autograph session with all the Suzuki riders.  My knowledge of Elena Myers' MotoGP test scored me a free hat (25 years of Four Wheeling, meh)

Start them young

I love how much access you have to the garages

Bought a $20 AMA t-shirt for my son, and he got it autographed by nearly all the racers

"Hey, you want something special?"  This guy (sorry I don't know who he is) gave my son an autographed fairing, which completely made his day.  Put my Randy de Puniet's valve stem cap to shame (titanium or not)

Josh Herrin is my son's (current) favorite

And now for some action shots

Danny Eslick

Race winner (and overall cool kid) Tommy Aquino

Tommy's first victory

Happy to see KTM's out there

After the races we walked around the garages some

Tasty RC30

OK, can anyone tell me what this guy's deal is?  He was examining/looking at a couple of the Yamaha very intently.  Keep in mind it's nearly 90 degrees and this guy is covered from head to toe.

That's a lot of tires

Nice

Very pretty old Kawi's

The thing we were most excited about for the day was the Fan Walk - for the princely sum of $10 we were going to have a walk around the entire circuit with some of the racers.  Originally they had 6 different entrance locations allocated, with different riders at each, but lack of interest (fools!) scaled it back to everyone entering at the timing tower.

There were perhaps 50 folks who showed up, and 7 or 8 racers.  We spent most of the time walking with 19 year old Tommy Aquino, who had just won his first ever victory, and was super cool and casual.  Reigning champ Josh Hayes was always nearby.

I can't say enough how much fun this was.  Tommy was constantly adjusting his walk to stay on the racer's line, answering everyone's questions and generally joking around for the whole walk (I'm in 3rd gear here, I had a brain fart and downshifed here once, this was where I had a big crash last year, etc).

Tommy Aquino

In we go

My second tire-wall climb this season  Bigsmile

Josh Hayes and Tommy Aquino take us around the circuit

Friends stop by

I guess a lot of people have trouble with this turn

Tommy stopped a few times to really check out details on the track, curbing, pavement, etc

Tommy's talking about his big crash under the bridge from last year

More friends waiting

Video of some of the track walk.  Nothing great, I didn't want to point a camera at the kid the whole time

Interesting CBX-based custom bike

He's the Stig of Jersey.

Seriously, I've read the state of NJ has some very specific safety rules about handling fuel at racetracks. Must only apply to certain events. My brother-in-law races supermoto at Englishtown, NJ and never mentioned fuel handling restrictions.  Headscratch

I understand both the RC30 and CBX belong to Dane Westby's dad.

Thanks for the pics and write-up.   Bigok

You are allowed to smoke cigarettes while fueling drag bikes at Englishtown. Lol

Quick video of track action from my viewing spot. It's indeed a great viewing location, but it's pretty much the *only* viewing spot on the track.
