Well, I done dinged my tank while wrenching and chipped it    Sad

Any options out there besides colorite? They want $15 each for the touch up stick and base stick - and i have heard mixed reviews on their stuff.

I don't know of anybody else, but would love to know if there are other options myself.

I've had good luck with Color-rite -- seems to me 15 bux is a cheap lesson.

Well, it's actually $30, since I need a base pen and color pen Sad

But either way, not that much, I was just more curious if there were other options out there for touch up paint.

You could always check with a body shop and have them mix you up some.  It will probably be more than the Colorite stuff unless you know a painter.

how many miles do you put on that poor bike?
call it a love spot and chalk it up to normal wear and tear.

At 43k now, purchased late 2009 with 9k. It has plenty of love spots already. This is a piss me off, wtf did I do spot. Plus it's on the tank, so I don't want to leave a bare metal spot where rust can start.

Protect the bare spot with whatever old paint you've got lying around & put a sticker you like over the spot.  Fixed Bigok

I usually go to the autozone and get something that looks close.  I wouldn't worry about a base pen, just get something on there to keep it from rusting.  Yes, you'll still see it there, but whatever.  I'm not the kind to be bothered by that kind of thing.

I just recently bought a spay can from Color-Rite and am very pleased.  Great color match, very fast service... a bit on the pricey side, but it's easy.

Have you tried finger nail polish? About a bazillion colors. Model pain will sometimes match up pretty good.
I've always felt like when I get a new to me bike I should just give the bike a shove and let it fall. That way the inevitable pain is over on my terms.
