Here's the info for the 2nd Annual STN Region 6 Campout:

The Plan:
Spend a weekend camping near great riding roads in WV.  Ride during the day, hang around the campfire at night eating, drinking and swapping lies stories.  I will be onsite early Friday afternoon to get the Group F campground taken care of.  Arrive whenever you can, stay as long as you like.

When:
Friday October 21st through Sunday October 23rd
There will be no raindate

Where:
Seneca Shadows Campground near Seneca Rocks, WV

Campsites:
R Doug and I have reserved the "Group E" and "Group F" campsites as our "home base".  Each group site can accommodate up to 20 people, but only has 5 tent pads (all tents must be on tent pads).  We had no problem fitting 2 tents per pad last year (so long as they are not too big). If you are not interested in staying in a group site you can reserve regular sites and gather at the Group F "home base" for cooking/drinking/swapping lies around the fire.

If you want to stay in the group site post up and I'll add you to the list.  The cost will be $256 divided by how many people we can get on the sites - for example if we have 10 campers each person will pay $25 for the weekend).

Based on the projected attendance as of 10/3, the cost will be $15/tent for the weekend. You can PayPal (or Venmo) me at denton_at_rowan_dot_edu (parse that obviously). Please make a notation on PayPal indicating who you are on STN. If you would rather send a physical check PM me and I will give you the mailing info.  I will share the collected money with R Doug on-site.

Regular campsites are $13 - $19/night depending on location.  There are normal car-camping drive-up sites and a collection of "walk-in" sites.  The large group of "walk-in" sites are supposed to have good views of Seneca Rocks. Those not staying in the group site should make their own reservations.

Food:
I don't normally cook while camping, so if you do here's your chance to shine.  Our group site has 5 grills and 5 fire rings, so there will be ample room for food prep.  I'm sure we can work out some collection of money for the chef(s).

Nearby Restaurants:
Front Porch Restaurant and Harper's General Store are nearby
If anyone knows of more post up and I'll add them.

Motels: (for those not wishing to camp *cough*Chris*cough*)
Again, I don't know the area too well.  If anyone knows of lodging nearby add it to the thread.

Alcohol
We had no problem last year with drinking at the site, but you should plan on keeping a low profile. Don't ride in with 2 cases of Yuengling on your seat and we should be good. A decent selection of cold beer is available at the nearby country store.

Put me down for "F" troop also.
I'll be down Friday afternoon.

I'll Paypal the funds as soon as I get back from vacation.
PM me where to send it.

At the end of last year's meet, we were actually giving beer away
'cause no one wanted to haul it home.  EEK!

Hi Ken and others---Jamie and I are gonna come too (with baby Keira...but she's too young for anyone to worry about foul language--you should hear her mother!). Of course Jamie and Keira will drive and I'll ride.

We'll have a tent the size of Seneca Rocks...  Lol ...so will definitely need our own pad...which means I guess we can play it by ear to find out whether we'll need to get another campsite or not. Oh, and will anyone be smoking? (Jamie goes ballistic when she's around smokers---sorry.)

Looking forward to it!

Wow, our first group site sold out in record time!   Thumbsup

If we get enough additional folks interested in group camping I will see about reserving the E site as well.  If not, there are plenty of single campsites available throughout the campground.
