I'm up in Raleigh and planning on coming down for Vintage Days. Can you local riders recommend a good place to stay? Local motel/hotel, nothing fancy, just clean and fair price.

You could try kayak.com to search. Things are pretty booked up; the event gets more popular with each passing year and places I've stayed in the past (even further away from the track) were full when I looked a month ago.

(I should add that I'm talking about lower price-point lodgings; I didn't check the $100+/night places.)

Never have gone to BVD, but plan to next year!  I have attended the races there in the past, and have always stayed down on 280.  Plenty of hotels and restaurants there.  If you stay there you can use 119 and a few residential streets as a back way into the track, which will allow you to avoid any traffic. Used the Best Western the last time....do NOT use the Suburban Inn....worst hotel I have ever been in!

Their is a brand new Hampton not a quarter mile from Barbers. I stayed there the weekend of the AMA Superbike finals last Sept. They still had rooms available. Not overly expensive either.

They also serve hot baked cookies in the lobby for free! Barbers + Cookies = AWESOME!

I would just book through Kayak or Priceline. There are quite a few hotels and motels within 15 minutes of the track.

Also, I'll probably be heading over on Saturday (most likely just for the day but maybe all weekend. Not sure yet.)

We should do an ST-N meetup.  Bigok

There are plenty of places to stay in the area. One exit further down has several hotels and there are two at the exit for the Track itself including the new Hampton Inn previously mentioned. With that said I always camp at the facility and have for the last 6 years for the Vintage Festival. Never had any issues camping there and it is cheap.

Hey Jason, the festival website is saying that camping spaces are all sold out. Do you always reserve ahead of time?

Hmm I have never seen the tent camping in lots C and D sell out in previous years. Some of the other lots and the RV camping sells out pretty quick though. Maybe it is going to be a big year. I bought my tickets and camping pass several months ago so I did not realize they sold out.

You best bet is to find someone who has a pass and is riding to the event. The camping passes come with the main pass and a "tow vehicle" pass. You can easily get three or four small tents in a camping spot so maybe you can find someone who is not using their tow vehicle pass. Mine is being used by my travel companion for their vehicle.

+1 on that Hampton Inn right outside the track.  They should still have rooms available.

If you have some free time in the evening check out the Atrox Factory in Leeds.  They turn it into a great haunted house.
