Oil filter wrench size??

So, my new ..well..new 2007 Norge started leaking quite a bit out of the oil filter. I called Moto International and was pretty much told this was common as heck on new Guzzis as the factory did not always tighten the stock filters enough. Makes sense, easy peasy...

The only thing is looks like I will need a cap wrench for the filter to tighten it. Does anyone have any idea what size I should buy? Its smaller than the one I have for my car so I am hoping to be able to buy one from a local motorcyle shop or autoparts store.

That good 10w60 is expensive stuff to be letting drain out!

I responded to your post on the wild goose site: at the first service make sure a UFI filter replaces the original; it is very common for them to leak--when mine leaked, I tightened it, but the leak continued. I had the dealership perform the 600 mile service, and they installed a UFI; after that the leak stopped.

It's a bummer that Moto-International did not take care of this pre-delivery, seeing they know that it happens to lots of these bikes.

How hard would it have been for them to take care of it/swap out the filter before handing it over to the new customer?  No-one would care if they added another $30 to the bottom line...

Thanks all..may just be easier to swap out the filter myself...

Guess I could try and hold out for another 100 or so miles till the 600 service but hate leaking oil all over the place especially at 10-15 bucks a quart! Cheap bugger here.

And I do find it odd they didn't swap it out pre delivery. They have been so great on this sale and did so much else(drill fairing for dip stick, center stand mod, etc....even a free fron fender as there was a really small scrape on the stock one)

Filter leaked a bit on my Sport after about 3 or 4 hundred miles.  I snugged it up and it sealed up OK.  Next three have been fine.
