basically some friends and I do an annual 4day trip to Weaverville and stay at the Trinity Alps Resort, using it base camp to run amok among the local area.
!st day from Sac was through Lake Berryessa, through Butts Canyon to Middletown. over to Cobb, Bottle Rock Rd, 175 over Hopland grade, freeway bomb on 101 to Willits, hwy 20 to Ft. Bragg, hwy1 north (flipping off the spot I totaled my C14
) to Leggit, 101 north along Ave the Giants, hwy 36 east to hwy 3 north to Weaverville...463 miles day one

day 2 was a short day hwy 3north from Weaverville, breakfast/fuel in Etna. Over Sawyer's Bar rd to Forks of Salmon, back over Cecilleville/Callahan Rd to hwy 3 south, back to Weaverville..not a big day but some of the best riding and scenery..also found out that the old '03 FZ1 is just as fast as a newer FZ1 through the top of 5th gear

day 3 .. up early in the morning and rip west on 299 to Samoa for, yes!, breakfast at the Samoa Cookhouse...I'm a sucker for all you can eat French Toast
After overly full belly, back east on 299 to catch Titlow Rd south, which turns into USF1, connecting to hwy36 (again) east, to Hwy 3 north and back to Weaverville..side note, the section of hwy 36 between Forest Glen and hwy 3 is miles of 80+ sweepers, ending in a 2 mile passing area before reaching the top and narrowing down for the last couple of miles to hwy3..this where 2 sheriff 4x4's were sitting and hanging out when I come to the top of the hill on the brakes slowing down to 65 from.......a lot
.. if they had only been looking down the hill they would have had a live one..happy for stock exhaust system!!!

day 4 is sad..going home, but by way of Hwy3 south to 36, where I ran into a group from Utah at the Wildwood junction..they agree CA has the best riding roads of the nation
cont, east on 36 over the roller coaster section, than a little slab on 5 to Willows, cut across east to hwy45, which parallels 99/5 but rolls along next to the Sac River and out into the farm prairie, south of Colusa was able to run over a buck twenty for over5 miles, 30 over for almost 20miles and maybe 5 cars the whole time
total trip length 1362miles in 4 days

Asshole.
I put a new battery in the Bandit and it fired right up. That's about as much joy as it get these days.
I'll forgive you for not checking in with me as I was out of the area for most of the summer. Maybe next time you'll let me know and I can show you the really good roads.

Absolute rubbish, Nor Cal has no good roads and everyone should just avoid it at all cost

I think this was the one of the few motorcycle trips I took more than 5 pictures ...
maybe 'cause I wasn't busy chasing Rick....
DB, you're still way overdue for this trip BTW
