How did this thread drop down to Page 2?  It's Punkin Chunkin, for Pete's sake!!!

I live maybe an hour from this, and I've never been. Kinda like New Yorkers who have never seen the Statue of Liberty I guess...

If you leave early enough, take a specific route that would avoid the snarl of traffic in and out, can make it into the muddy field to park,  then go in on foot from there, you may have a good time for a few hours before having to head back home to beat the cold of riding in the dark for too long..

It was a novelty the first time I went, the next year more of an annoyance.. It is nothing like you see on TV...  They take a 3 day event and combine it into a one-two hour show.  Things move pretty slow between throws when you are there.   It is cool to see he big air cannons if you've never seen them, and the trebouches  and centrificals are also fun to watch, as are the multitudes of rednecks that attend.  I'm just having a hard time trying to get psyched to go three years in a row.    Im going to meet Spanky for breakfast on Saturday morning and we'll probably just head out for a PA day ride, since the weather looks stellar for early November.

If you want a route in and out that we used the last two years without traffic let me know.. I don't have it in a file, but I'll get it to you on google maps

I'd be interested in that route, as I was planning on taking PA 41 then onto DE 1 and 113.

Allan,

Not sure where you were picking up PA41 at, but for a more scenic route with less traffic, take 41 to 841 south, take that to the state line pickup MD213 south to Galena, pick up MD 313 south from there to just south of Greensboro, left on knife box rd across 317 continuing on Burrsville Rd back into Delaware. Take this to DE 16 thru Greenwood DE. Just east of 13 in Greenwood, take the 2nd right, sawmill rd, to Tuckers Rd. Left on Tucker's to Oak, right then left on Havens Rd to S Union Church a short hop and cross over onto Chaplains Chapel Rd... continue over the next few cross roads to the chunkin farm and parking area..   Run this backwards
On the way back out of there to stay out of the traffic.

Have A Safe Trip....
