I live about 3 miles from the Hub.  The riding in the area is excellent!  That is why I moved here.  The Hub is getting a little dated but definately is a motorcycle destination.  Let me know if you want more specifics.

 jackfrost,
Where are you in Missouri? I grew up(yeah right! my wife would say) in Joplin, MO. I currently live in Clinton, AR so the great roads are very easy to get to. If you  get down this way for a ride, give me a PM to see if I can fall in with you.

Agree on the extended riding season. You don't have to be real hardcore to ride all year, just need the right gear. And maybe a little hard headedness...  Looks like your about 4 hours north of me by way of the main highways, 5 hours by the fun roads.

Hwy. 7 is a hoot, well known by riders and LEO's alike You can't go wrong by staying East of I-540 and North of I-40. Most all of those roads are entertaining. Staying North of the Fayetteville Shale natural gas field will keep you on better roads. The truck traffic is pretty rough on the pavement.

Hwy. 7 is a hoot, well known to riders and LEO's alike You can't go wrong pretty any much anywhere East of I-540 and North of I-40. Actually, it's a good idea staying north of the Fayetteville Shale natural gas field. The truck traffic can be rather scary and rough on the pavement.

The missus and I stayed at the HUB a couple or three years ago. Decent place. Nothing fancy. Good food at the resturant. BYOB, it is a dry county.

Great Riding.
