In Memphis or close is there any place I can ride in and ride out to get new tires on my BMW R1150RT?
Any suggestions for a high mileage tire for it. I'm no where near a knee dragger.

For that bike I say a Road 3 (or Road 2) but I don't know of any places.
I googled and quite a few came up but I don't know any of them.

Life free and ride hard because you never know when you'll be called up for that final ride. Go out doing what you love.

I put Metzler 880s on mine. 10,000 miles +. Never lost traction in any weather or lean angle. But then, I never dragged a knee either.

The 880's seem to on the high mileage list.
Most of the time when I finish with tires there is plenty of tread on both sides of the center.
I sure do hope I can find some place within a couple of hundred miles that will let me drive in an put them on.

Well if 200 miles is your range you can try Midway Cycle here in Huntsville, AL. I ride in and out all the time. Fair prices on tires as well.

Best call ahead to see if they have exactly what you want.
Otherwise google is your friend. Lots of places will do ride in and out for a guy on the road. Selection may be limited however.

I'm kinda late on this one. There's a new shop (can't remember the name) at Summer and Elmore where the old Kawasaki of Memphis used to be. They haven't gotten too busy yet and stock quite a few tires.

There's a mechanic in Water Valley. The Oxford dealership closed and he's working out of his garage. I would think you could ride in / ride out from there.
PM me for his phone number. I would think he could order the tires or you could transport them there.

Turns out the BMW Dealer in Memphis let me in on a Sat morning and had me out pretty quick.
They are expensive but must have changed hands or something because they were very nice.
Next time I will have to pull the wheels and have someone put new ones on.
Is this guy in Water Valley a BMW Mechanic?

Yes you are! There are plenty of "knee draggers" in the Memphis area!

Performance hasn't changed hands. I work that area and stop in about once a week to BS. You won't get screwed there.
