From Asphalt & Rubber:

These are supposedly the 2012 ZX-14R's Engine and Frame.  You can read a short article at the link.

Want a frame that can handle the power or one that eventually cracks?

Well, the first choice, but I also don't want a bike that weighs as much as a Road King!   Bigsmile

Just replace the big ugly exhaust with a Leo Vince and the extra 20 pounds will be gone.

Kawi finally killed the George Foreman grills and put some other grill on the bike.

Its actually only 12 pounds heavier, with a ton more power and torque.  Many important parts were reforged thicker and sturdier to deal with the extra power.  Plus things like the wheels are lighter to reduce unsprung weight.  12 pounds is nothing, get rid of that just by changing out the exhaust.

The stock cans would have to go.
What is it about Kawasaki and ugly exhausts?
Are they getting a kickback from the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers?
Everything else on the ZX14R looks great!

I think the new ZX-14 is an awesome machine.

And I lol when people freak out about a few pounds on a bike when they themselves can probably lose about 50lbs in alot of cases

Meah..... I suppose it looks less goofy than the black plastic version.... matching the paintwork helps quite a bit.....

Personally, I'm disappointed.  The engine and look of the bike is a nice refresh but with my bike fully modded out, the new bike wouldn't stand a chance next to it.  I'm not talking speed, I mean comfort and how I've set it up to match what I need and want while riding.  I wish Kawa had added some more wow factors.  The engine enhancements are nice but the bike already has plenty of power.

...which is exactly what prompted the upgrade from VFR to 14. Much simpler solution than losing 50lbs.  Twofinger

And more fun too! Lol

The rider losing weight dosen't affect the handling of the bike nearly as much as loss of weight on the bike.
