Neither squirrels nor chipmunks provide much traction.

I opened at pedestal yesterday and I had a squirrel jump on me. Yes - I screamed like a bitch. By the looks of things, it looks like they are getting stocked up for winter.

Lol  Sorry.  Couldn't help myself.  Were you responsible for cleaning it out?

I feel a little funny admitting this, but I have a squirrel who lives in a Squirrel house that I made quite some time ago and placed in a tree in my yard.

We have a wefare squirrel who lives off of the peanuts we give him each day, however he does work hard for these peanuts, as each day he must fight a flock of combined Crows. Magpies and Stellar Jays that all want the same peanuts. (Think mother nature cage fighting here) They all show up at sunrise and await the hand outs.

More entertainment? We place the peanuts farther away from his house. He will actually jump on the birds when they get too close to his stash he is trying to pack away in the Squirrel house. It has even gone head to head with my very large dog, fighting for nuts.

I say that if you added 40 lbs to a squirrel, they could take out Wolverines. Lol

Lol  Sorry.  Couldn't help myself.  Were you responsible for cleaning it out?

I was helping another tech locate a problem, so I wasn't the one who had to do the repairs. Most of the time we find hornets living in the pedestals, but I've also found snakes and mice.

...Picture a new scene. You are a cop. You and your partner have pulled off on a quiet residential street and parked with your windows down to do some paperwork. Suddenly a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a torn T-shirt flapping in the breeze, and wearing only one leather glove, moving at probably 80 mph on one wheel, and screaming bloody murder roars by, and with all his strength throws a live squirrel grenade directly into your police car......

 Lol

I think I remember reading that a few years back, thanks for the laugh!!

The story of the mutant jumping squirrel reminds me of this picture:
