Those silly Seattle people... While hunting around more information on the above story, I stumbled up this one:

Googlemaps, Montlake Bridge

 Lol

Fantastic bridge. I've been over it and under it countless times. Always wonderful. When it opens up to let a large ship pass it's always polite and fast. Would cross again AA+++

Best bridge I've had the privilege of driving over, excellent skills at getting people/cars over body of water.

I've allways found the ducks easy to avoid, either on land or sea.  When I used to sail Lake Union, the ducks were often putting around the north end with a load of tourists.  I'd often sail at top speed right towards them before veering off at the last minute.  The tourists seemed to love it, judging by the waves, and number of cameras pointed my way.  I'm not sure how the duck drivers felt about it.

I didn't like going under the bridges much.  Our first boats would fit right under most of the bridges, but the last one we had would only fit under three in the Seattle area.  Even though boat traffic has legal priority, there are a lot of restricted periods around morning and afternoon commutes.  In addition, the bridge operators usually waited until all the boats in sight that were heading towards a bridge had gathered, before raising it.

Boat ownership, it's not all peaches and cream  Lol
