Sunday

The Frenchman is coming up on the 23rd to get the blue KLR ready for a trip cross country (Andrew from San Francisco is buying it and Chris is going to deliver it). The garage will be open from 10 to 4-5, with the tire changer out and various other tools "at the ready". If there's any late-season stuff you want to do to your bike, bring it on by.

Or, just come and eat some chili and armchair quarterback on how Chris is "doing it wrong" ;-)

The weather is currently forecasted to be sunny and 60, so come on over!

If I can't get the jeep/trailer hookup, I may need to leave the SV in your care and fetch it later. We'll see. I will likely be without a copilot that day.

Do I get to take it for a spin while its here? Burnout

Edited to add: I'm not responsible for any speeding tickets that I may incur while your SV is in my possession...  Cool

I'll be out of town, or I'd gladly swing back down to Jersey.

Let me know how that line works for you....

So far the combination of full luggage / grey hair (late onset blonde, maybe?   Headscratch) / polite/respectful demeanor / zero attitude flung at LEO seems to yield the most favorable results when I've been "approached" about an alleged infraction.  Just sayin' Shrug

I'm not gonna miss the ceremonail "burnin' at the stake" this weekend, am I?

Maybe. I'm hoping that someone will feel curious about the choke lever on the green KLR and feel compelled to investigate

Sad I'll be on my way down to Georgia for supervisor training. If that falls through, though, I'll be there.

Don't tease me, Colleen!

My anti-social tendencies will most likely prevent me from attending, but you never know.

Chris won't be riding the KLR cross country this fall, so there's no real reason to do anything in the garage this weekend. However, if someone really needed to use it, we'll be around, but there is no longer any 'planned event'   Sad

Once you've agreed to ride the possessed, a zip-tied KLR poses little challenge. . ..   Wink

Hmmm, putting crash bars back on my bike is a two person job. You're still planning on being around?

Yep. Chris said he *might* be coming up on Sunday, but I'm not holding my breath    We're running errands Saturday morning but don't have any real plans for the rest of the weekend.

Unfortunately now have to cancel. One of those "do the right thing" kind of deals is getting in the way. Sorry, hope to see you and the rest of the crew again soon.

Wound up sort of un-cancelling. Dame was nice enough to react mainly with polite giggling at the site of my bad wrenching. Two good things did come out of it:

1. Didn't have to ride back with the crash bars still lashed to my top case.
2. She found her rubber mallet. Yes, I needed it and no it didn't help.

And now it hangs proudly up on the peg board where it should be.  Thanks! Glad you at least have them on the bike properly and not just strapped to the top case. Doubt that they'd protect much back there...  Embarassment

Outstanding.  Polite giggling is good.  FWIW, all my recent services have been outsourced to Chicago. ...    Wink
