I had a great time in 2008 and am strongly considering it for next year. I have no problems with the location or the roads getting to/from. Taking the time off work (regardless of location) is the biggest hurdle for me...

I have never been to Arkansas, and it's a national that doesn't require me to drive across a bunch of boring states, so I'd say yes.

I'm seriously considering it. Went to my first get together this year (ESTN) and had a blast.

Never been to Arkansas, so the location has appeal as well. (and looks to be a nice couple day ride through Kentucky and TN to get there!)

This is what I hear. Sadly enough since moving back to St. Louis years ago I've never taken advantage. Sad

I'd love to ride Arkansas. Heading to the Eureka Springs area would be awesome.

I'm with others:  it's the timing, not the place, that's been the limiting factor.

Time is always a problem for me.  The 2nd week in June is ALWAYS the first week of summer school for me.  That's a bad time to take a day off.

According to maddjack's "National General Information" thread under ST.N Nationals, the meet is the third Tuesday and Wednesday in June.  For 2012, that will be June 19th and 20th.  Put it on your calendars now.  (It's been on ours for months.)  Regardless of location, you can always know when the National meet will be based on maddjack's post.

Well worth mentioning as I'm sure that's not common knowledge.  Unfortunately, it's never my calender that's the problem.

Was there a negative issue the last time it was in Arkansas? Or just probing to see what location would attract the most riders?

My 02 is that Arkansas has features you cant find anywhere else....
Miles of consistently twisty roads and rural. Yes WV, NC etc... have some better roads and lots more of them, but the reduced speed limits, high traffic volumes and a town/community ever few miles takes a bit away. ( I still go whenever I can cause its still worth the time)

If your looking for turn out and the social aspect, Arkansas may not be the best choice. I've met and rode with a lot of guys and gals on this board over the years and gotten a few in trouble (sorry about that). My ideal of a great ST get together involves more hours and miles of twisty riding than most want to do.

I've also rode with just about every kind of sport group FZ1, CBR, Gixxers, ST's, Connies etc....all here in Arkansas, and typically (not everyone) from ST.N are much more on the social side of riding. Not a thing wrong with that, either!

So for me...if the goal of ST.N National is to have an "All Day" ride your but off! Arkansas cant be beat, and I for one would step up and help coordinate a few things.
If the ST.N National wants to be more of a get together to meet, greet, drink a few beers, ride a bit theres probably a better location that would attract more members.
