Infinitely more convenient for me than the "C-Link."

I'm going as a friend will be a first-timer and I have to get a new helmet next year--and Arai discontinued the one model that fits my freaky head.

I'm going to have to apologize.  Below is my excuse so if you aren't interested then you can stop reading.

This year I've decided to pick up a new bike to race.  For the past several months I've been considering a 2012 R1 but after some sole searching, considering the tracks I ride, my skill level and my desire for how much I'll have to work on the track I wasn't totally sold.  So on Friday I was hanging out with my engine guy and my chassis guy talking bikes.  That night was either the 848 EVO or the R1.  I really want the EVO but I'm concerned on long term maintenance.  I like the R1 but it'll require 100% focus all the time.

At that point I decided R1.  So fast forward to Saturday morning and I was like "What abot the Triumph 675R?"  Well the dealer I was going to buy the R1 from also sells Triumph (I-90 Motorsports).  On the way back from my rental kart league at Pacific GP on Saturday I stopped by I-90 and looked at the bike some more.  It fits and it seems to fit really well.  So I texed by chassis guy about the bike and he was super excited.  He asked if I was going to the show (I was there on Friday) but I decided sure why not.  I got there around 3:30 and wondered around some more as he wasn't going to be there for awhile.  I ended up over at the Triumph booth (which I missed the night before) and Team Latus Motorsports was there (including Jason DiSalvo and their AMA Supersport rider, I believe Nick)  Due to my time at the Ridge the week before I spent a little bit of time talking to the Latus Crewchief and indicated the 675R is one of the two bikes I want to get this year for racing.  Considering Latus is the Triumph Factory AMA team he talked to me more about it and started to fill me with information.  It was at this time 4:30 and if I walked away I would be walking away from a great deal and lots of good information.  He left me his cell to give him a buzz if I decided on the 675R so he can give me the technical knowledge and access to specific parts I need to be able to race the bike.

So I missed the dinner as I was making a fantastic connection.  I'm sorry about that...I'll organize a dinner when the weather gets better.

BTW: I am going to race the 675R this next season....should be awesome! Smile

I more or less decided after attending last year's show that I wouldn't be back, at least for a while.  I was disappointed in the size of it, and didn't see all that much of interest.  Sounds like it's not getting any bigger.

I saw a bike on one of the banners and got super excited....then it wasn't there.  Weird that Moto Guzzi was on a banner but nowhere else.

Once again, the vintage bikes were my favorite.  We might submit Grant's Kaw as a local bike as it's in better shape than the KH500 the VME showed.  Bigsmile
