Textile Overpants on a sportbike

I tried out a some Firstgear HT Overpants this weekend and they did everything they should (warm, easy on/easy off, etc.) except they bunched up in the crotch area causing an uncomfortable pinching ( ) anytime I moved.  I think it is because of the seating position on the CBR1K and the fact that I sit right up close to the tank.

So...any STN sportbike riders have recommendations for overpants?  I need something at least exterior water-resistant and with a removable cold-weather liner.  I though maybe Icon would be the place to look (since they cater to the sportbike market), but I didn't find anything to fit the bill on their site.

I use the HT overpants on my sportbike with no problems. Do the pants fit you well, or are the baggy? iirc, they were pretty crisp when new, might get better for you when the weather a bit and soften up.

The pants were new and almost the right size (I need the 34 tall, they were just plain 34's).  Might be better after they break in, but I don't think my yarbles could stand it...

And to be specific, it was a pinch, not a squish...

What are you wearing under them? If I wear something like jeans under them, they do punch up and pinch more. I wear LDcomfort shorts or tights under them when I ride, which is probably why I don't have that problem.

I've had my HT over pants for 7-8 years and they are still waterproof, hot in the warm weather and bunch up behind both knees on long rides.

Was wearing relaxed fit jeans under them.  I will be wearing them for commuting so jeans will be under them most of the time.  I tried them without the liner and that was better, but still not good enough for me to drop the cash on them.

I've worn Tourmaster Calibers for a couple of years and love 'em.  (Unbearably not when it's unbearably hot.  They don't vent much at all.)  Highly recommended.

I've got a pair of the HT over pants and I wear them over sweatpants in the chilly weather and over shorts when it's a little warmer, very comfy. Jeans aren't the most comfy on a sport bike, even with nothing over them.

I wear my HTs on a naked SV650 over a variety of pants with no pinching of the yarbles... sometimes I'll get pinched in Carhartts or similar and it sure is uncomfortable...   but a good fitting, broken-in pair of HTs shouldn't do that IMHO.

I recently picked up a pair of the AGV Telluride pants to give them a shot. Like you, I sit up tight to the tank on my CBR600, but unlike you, I haven't had any problems with these. In fact, I've been extremely pleased with them. They have zip in liners for both the wet and the cold but I've found that they do a pretty good job on keeping me dry even without the zip in wet liner (and I know wet. I live in the PNW). Only thing I can say that I haven't loved about them is that they zipper at the bottom of the legs doesn't come as high as the one on the HTs do so getting them on and off over boots is a bit of a hassle for me. I opt to just take my boots off first.

I have the Scorpion Deuce which fit well.  By "fit well" I mean they don't have a ton of excess fabric.  The cut is just right:  no saggy crotch, no baggy legs, etc.  FWIW, I ride naked SV650 - not a sportbike.

So tell me this...are most of these pants pretty water-resistant without the liner in them?  I realize you will never be water-proof with standard zippers, but I at least want the material the pants are made from to repel water, you know?  I don't want to stop to put a liner in when it rains a little.  The Scorpion pants are a possibility since they come in tall lengths.

So the pinchies seem to be a pants-specific thing. I also have a near new pair of Teknic Freeway riding pants that pinch my nuts something fierce now and then.
Great pants otherwise, but I just don't wear them anymore as they can get uncomfortable.

My Dariens NEVER do that.

My Joe Rockets, though mesh everywhere else, are textile in the crotch, and whether I'm in jeans, shorts, what have you, no pinching of the yarbles.

Go a size up.

I can only speak for the first gear HT's - they are very waterproof - although I had to retreat them once. They do have full length zippers. But with the angle of the zippers and 8 Lbs of velco I have never had a zipper leak on them. Downside is that they are hot when it's. Wear tights under them, and you will not get the bunching.

I've never heard anything bad about the FG HT2 overpants. I looked at an overpriced pair at a stealership once, they seemed to be very well made, abeit with quite a baggy cut.

I almost bit on a pair once or twice, but decided to invest in my Darien pants instead, never regretted that either.
