You guys have such an AMAZING memory
I thought Alaska was a bit too far so I traded that guy in for a new guy in Louisiana
This is Mike, he's my sweetheart. I'm done shopping

I like to visit ADVrider often. Some good reading there, a whole thread about mods on my particular model of bike alone, as well as, finding a like-new replacement seat for my 20 year old bike at a great price. Thanks...ahem...ADV.
(As my particular model bike was only available here in Canada for a little over 1 year, parts tend to cost a small fortune).

I think I spend more time at ADVRider than here for much the same reasons that others have already mentioned. I live vicariously through the ride reports and it's a great resource for equipment reviews since they push gear to far greater extremes than I ever will. They have a reputation for being coarse, but really it's not so bad outside the Jo Momma forum.

I just got banned from AdvRider
. My offense, buying too many farkles for my bikes
and too much gear for my closet. Yes, I have a sickness and I ADMIT
. Otherwise I loved the site

Gee it has almost been two days since this post was hit. So here I am to save the day ???DOH! OK bad quote.
I do hang out over at ADVRider as many of you might guess but it all depends what bike I am riding that day and my mood. I have had great times riding with that AND this group. I think we have a LOT of hidden cross overs here.
Is that called cross riding?
Cheers all

The US has more paved roads than any country in the world....I'll ride them first...then all the other paved roads in the world, then if I get bored I'll take the ST3 down some gravel roads.
My thought exactly. I took a KLR to Alaska and did the whole adventure touring thing. By the time I made it to Alaska I think I had ridden a total of 20 miles on gravel. What a waste. Wish I could redo that trip on the Sprint. It would be so much better and more fun.

I'm glad you feel this way. That means there is a good chance that we will ever meet.

If you only rode just 20 miles on gravel, how was this an adventure ride?
Dirt roads are hidden and many are hard to find, you have to seek them out, they are there if you are willing to find them.
I love both kind of riding, but I can't ride to places like this on my ST3

ADVrider is my site of choice. Packed with info and intertainment galore. I like my streetbike but it stays at home more and more. I like the option of riding damn near anywhere I want.
Some of the good roads are not paved.
