i had not planned on going because i heard neither bmw nor triumph would be there - two of the manufacturer's whose bikes i'm considering buying.  after some effort, i am told triumph _will_ be there and the local bmw dealers, as well.

what will you folks be looking for?

i'd initially planned on going friday after work, but due the the cal vb games that friday and saturday eve, plan to go saturday daytime.

any test rides being offered?

anyone ever strike up a deal to buy a bike, while at the show?

enjoy,

Don;t even think of signing up for the R1200GSA, well maybe if there are 2 OK  Bigsmile

Try the 800GS, road it last year and still want more. ]
THe HD demo rides were canceled last year, because the roads were wet Yes wet! not because of rain just because the roads were wet (Heck on the BMW ride up to Allice's and back we ran into hail & water on the road almost an inch deep) Although I wanted to try the ElectroGlide, well it is a touring bike, maybe this year I get a chance. Always wanted to know what it feels like to pilot  a road cruiser that rivals my truck in weight Bigsmile

What ya looking at Jim? What new bike tickles your fancy ?

Looks like it's going to rain again this year. I wish they would schedule it earlier. Seems this is nearly always a rainy weekend.

Still, it's nice to go.

Oh, it rains no matter when they schedule the event -- the bike show is actually a pagan ritual that brings forth the winter rain.  Lol

That explains it!

Hey - has anyone been to the Long Beach show? I was thinking of taking a ride down to that one. My guess is it would be much bigger.

The San Mateo show is still a bit of a victim of the economy.

Is the Long Beach show worth the ride?

Hi Guys - new region 1 relo.

We usually had a group head together to the show in DC - some of us would go out after and grab coffee if there was no snow.

I would love to hook up with a local in the east and ride over.  I can tell my wife is a mandatory West coast STN initiation thing.  She might by it and give me a morning out.

i also thought about the LB show, as I'm interested in the f800r, and BMW _is_ scaling back its participation, including SM venue.  some local bmw dealers will be there, i was told by the organizers.

i'm pretty sure it's not a sales floor, but has anyone actually struck a great deal and bought a bike at the show?  or, at least, 'closed the deal'?

who will be offering test rides?

saturday morning, rain or shine,

If you have not gone, DON'T show was smaller and lest representative than ever Thumbsdown

Economy is just killing discretionary spending for most, unless you own/want a HD and need cheap black leather chaps or cheap helmets.

NO BMW TEST RIDES Thumbsdown  Waited in line for 45 min to find out there were no spaces left for the Super T at Yamaha, (got in line as soon as the show started)

The Triumph Extreme is the Shinitzle  Drool
