Aynone Caught In The Snow?

Barely beat the storm home last night. Left DIA at 6:30 and pulled into the garage in Fort Collins at about 8:00. Light rain and about 45 degrees from Denver to just South of Loveland where it started spitting snow. I just measured 7 1/2 inches in the front yard after a record high Monday and we know we can count on more good fall riding. It really is great to live in Colorado!

Sounds like you have a tad more up yonder than we do down here. About 4-5 here south of Denver. It will melt fast, and there will be plenty more riding.

I was going to take the Transalp in this morning but decided against it at the last minute. I was taking the trashcan down to the curb and it was a tiny bit slick so I bailed and snagged Rita's car.

It's winter. I'm either skiing or brewing beer.

Wasn't it like 80* in Denver the day before the snow was supposed to come?
Please send some of that white stuff over here!

And 12* on the way in this morning. I almost took the bike as the roads were pretty clear but there's one spot where there was a sheet of ice on a curve. That wouldn't have been too much fun. I should be able to ride in tomorrow though.

We got 5 or 6 inches in Colorado Springs.
It's supposed to be warm (62 degrees) on the weekend so my buddy is already planning a canyon ride. I think I'll skip this one though.

Pretty heavy this morning at 4:20am when I was taking Rita's car to work. Of course there are the folks like the guy in the SUV that didn't even appear to slow down for the red light. Good thing I was expecting it.

Good day to work at home
We got quite a bit down here - more than expected. The dog likes it at least.

Welcome bluedog.
FWIW, the day before (Nov 2) I rode to the top of Pikes Peak. That's Colorado for you. But would note it was 40f at the entrance gate, and 15f with 40mph winds at the summit. Woo hoo!
Looking back while on the ascent...

Great pic Steve - probably will not be many (if any) opportunities left to hit Pikes Peak this year. I had wanted to go check it before the season ended.
Bike is currently pulled apart running wires/relays/controller for my new 3000Lm LED aux lights
- If it's still open next weekend, gonna shoot down for a scoot up to the peak.

Justin... The Pikes Peak Hwy is now paved all the way to the top. The multi-year project was completed a few weeks ago, though the big parking area remains dirt. Not sure what the plans are for that. Also, the highway remains open year round depending on conditions, and they get the plows out after storms. I called ahead for the road "situation".
Hey, you mentioned the book in the other thread. Would mention the book is loaded with then/now images, and a bunch more, including 250+ maps, 500+ images, etc. Made it an exhaustive thing so no one would be tempted to improve upon it. The reviews at Amazon (see sig) note the historical perspectives and the "bunch more".

Yeah, I read what was available on Amazon for preview and saw that - looking forward to reading it all
And who knows - I may find some yet undiscovered roads as well
