I am looking at coming to the Us for a 4 week tour of the west cost in May June next year. Looking for somewhere reputable to hire a large capaicty sports touring type bike. Anyone have any suggetions or reccomnedations.
Wheres the best place to start

You need to narrow down your destination and itinerary considerably; at least to one of the major metro areas:

(N->S)

Seattle
Portland
San Francisco
Los Angeles
San Diego

There are too many options to give you a helpful response at this point.

I recall names like Street Rider, Eagle Rider.
Probably best bet is google ~ "rent motorcycle, XYZ City"

May / June is a great time frame for west coast visit.   enjoy

We used California Motorcycle Adventures.  They have several shops in California and have several different large capacity sport touring bikes to choose from.  We were pleased with their service and the condition of the 1200RT we rented.

eagleriders.com rents all sorts of bikes.

In LA they rent BMWs, Kawis etc as well as Harleys.
