Big Fun in the Lab
«

So, Dan K comes over last evening to swap sprockets on his Sprint . . . seeing as how niether of us had mucked about much with Single Sided Swingarms, I'd say the whole thing went pretty well (I KNOW he cleared the end of the driveway without anything important falling off) . . . .
Dan also drug along his laptop with some Tune Majik installed therein, and killed the snatchy/hunting throttle problem that's plagued the Tiger since new . . . the guy's a wizard, I tell ya!
It wasn't ride a ride out past New Glarus on a sunny morning, but for chilly Novermber evening, it was big fun!

I'm far from a wizard, but we did get a new tune loaded on Bomber's tiger.
The lab reminded me of the garage I grew up in - my grandfather's (except he had now motorcycle lift), who lived a couple blocks from my childhood home until he passed.
Needless to say, I was immediately comfortable, and as a game but very novice wrench, it was great to learn a few things. I've changed the oil and filter on my bikes for years, tackled an R/R upgrade on the Sprint, and done some bolt-ons, but never used a torque wrench before. And now I know how to properly adjust the chain on Triumph's single sided swing arm.
Thanks again John - looking forward to my next visit to the lab. And the bike felt like it was 10 years younger with the new sprocket (down one in the front) - such a cheap and (not so) simple mod gave the bike so much more pep... As some at the Triumphrat forum say, it appears this is how the bike should have been released from the factory.

He's got all kinds of crap on the shelves (but no primAtes). One of the reasons I'm so comfortable there. Can't wait to get back.
