I'm curious how many miles people were able to put on their bikes this year. I'm not talking to the people that can ride year round, I'm talking to the folks that are getting ready to put their bikes away for the season.  I was able to get 13,015 GREAT miles in so far. I'm sure it won't be long until the snow flies. I'm about 1,000 miles behind last year but I still have some time left. So how has your riding season been?

I had to fire up the spreadsheet since my total involves some high math.  12331 as of this morning and by this afternoon I'll be at 12500+.  That's pretty good for me since I only commuted a few times (150) and having lost my 3 day weekends, my weekend-only riding has been compromised.  I think my biggest annual run post-20-year riding sabbatical was about 18200 IIRC.

Mostly from necessity and the rest from maturity, I'm now declaring Quality over Quantity.  That I'll be sticking to.

My April - October mileage is almost exactly 10K miles, my lowest year by far (usually over 15K). They were mostly three day weekends and some all-day twisty rides (no commuting), so they were very high quality, fun miles. My bike was apart for maintenance until April, and work ate my life in July and August (almost no riding). I'm not quite done yet, but suspect most of my remaining miles this season will be dual-sport/dirt riding.

Sigh, I need to do better next year and not let work consume my free time. Need to enforce more balance.

I probably don't count, but right now I have 19,532 GPS miles on the trip (Since 6-21). And I am still on the same front tire. The wear strips aren't even showing. I was going to replace it but have a morbid fascination over how far it will really last.

19.3K so far but there is still some good riding weather in the future. I took one trip to WV, VA, MD and PA and another to Colorado. On the way home from CO I did an unplanned and undocumented Iron Butt. 1174  mi. in 22.5 hours.

I need to post my B12 miles soon.  The XR will stay out all year.  I know my miles are *way* down this year.  The new job has a 3 mile commute, and many days I don't even ride for it.  It takes longer to suit up than it does to ride.  Crazy  Plus, with the location change, three days a week I now pick up my kids.

The difference being, if the wear strips we showing I would replace it without a second thought. Tires are important and I don't like not having decent tread.

I have gotten good mileage out of this brand of tire, which is why I put it on. I don't think I've ever uses one up, since the XS11s and Ural have done all the big trips. I just haven't decided if it makes me nervous yet.

Spent too much time chasing my children around the globe this year. It was worth it though. I only pulled a 3 day trip this year. So I did 12,000 last year, only 6000 this year (counting today). Time for another valve adjustment.

Both bikes are put away for the year now. crap.

FJR : 24,000km
CBR250R: 4000
Ninja 250 : 2500 (sold)

30,500km = 19,000 miles.

Really. humph. I didn't think I did that much considering I only did two overnighters (Stowe Vt, Cumberland Falls KY) this year. Still, down a little bit for me, I usually avg around 25  thou per year. Last year it was on the far side of 30 Bigsmile

Now that's a good year.  Thumbsup  If I was a single man I'd have a lot more but I have a hard time getting away. My family does allow me Saturday's for my weekly excursions and I get 1 week of the summer to disappear. The rest of the time they usually have plans for me.  Bigsmile  Honey do lists and Daddy do lists keep me very occupied.

Hmmm.   Headscratch

Moto Guzzi--about 6,500 miles.

Tuono--about 3,000 miles

Mille R--about 1,000 miles.

So 10,000 miles total, more or less.  The Mille only goes out on sunny days, and it takes a couple of hours to ride out to the twisty bits around here, so it doesn't get ridden that much with the Guzzi and Tuono in the garage.   Shrug

The only correct answer to the question is indeed, "not enough."  Big plus one on that.   Bigok

About 22,000 miles this year. More than half of that was one trip (the IBR + Michigan-Seattle and LA-Michigan). It's the most I've done in any year, but my goal was 30,000.

A Tenere? Fuck am I jealous. Give me your impressions please.I'm torn. I have my eye on a Kawasaki for a good price.A highly modified FZ1 tricked out.A brand new FJR.

I could see myself chucking caution to the wind for this bike. Inlove

Sadly, I think I trailered my bikes around more than I rode them.  Chicago -> Las Vegas -> Chicago  4900 miles total *sigh*.

Just over half of last year's total at ~15k.  The plotting and planning to correct this oversight has begun.  I'm thinking Florida in February, Maine in June, a LD rally in April, and probably a two week west coast trip in September.  The bar is set for 30k for 2012, which should just about double the total mileage on the Daytona.   Lol

14,679 and still going on the 05 speed triple.  That includes a 5200 mile run to laguna seca for the Motogp.  Kriega luggage rules, and metezler Z8's are awesome.
whether you can ride year round is a matter of choice in indianapolis.  the snows are not usually frequent enough to prohibit riding, and as long as no ice is on the road , then i'll ride.

10,500 and still riding.  I would have had more, but work got in the way.

I'm amending my totals........

Due to family travel, work schedules, etc. our Bird will will make its first appearance on the table Saturday.

Forecast for Thur/Fri follows........
Thanksgiving Day
Sunny. Highs 55 to 60. South winds 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night
Mostly clear in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Patchy fog after midnight. Lows 40 to 45. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday
Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs 50 to 55. South winds 10 mph.

We had ~1 inch of snow on the ground but it's gone now.

Guess what I'll be doing.......
