The big girl did quite nicely. Helped that the track (Miller) was very smooth and didn't tax my shagged-out forks.

Did you have a furry seatcover in place at all times?

No, left the sheep at home. The 70 miles home on the stock seat was brutal. There was a guy there with a hand-sewn naugahide seat and a shaggy white sheepskin cover, though... there were guys with saddlebags, tank bags, etc. It was a sport-touring track day put on by the Utah sportbike assn. A few harleys, too.

Check out my mighty 30-degree lean angle!
The guy picked a kind of strange spot to get good lean shots... the first two spots were on decreasing-radius/combination corners where you keep it wide for the first two apexes and then swing it in, and he was shooting while we were slowing down and before really leaning. The third spot was coming out of a corner as you're standing the bike up.
Excuses, excuses....

Guys who do trackdays on Harleys or Goldwings have my complete respect. You know they don't care what anyone else thinks, and you know they are having a blast.

Photog's are really limited on that track on where they can go. Studio819 had to basically get the track to say ok fine if the people putting ont he track day trust you to stand there, then go ahead and do what you want to. Since it was a group of people who are used to him being out there and we trust he isn't stupid (cause he isn't) then he got to go do his job. Thus his photos are really cool..

Huh... never thought about that. Guess it makes sense. You certainly wouldn't want him standing on the outside of a fast corner at the end of a straight or something...

He also has a lens about as big as he is. He can take closeups from about a mile away.

Nice 1k! I took my ZZR to a track day last year and had a blast. Wish there had been a Harley or two at the one I attended, I might have passed someone!
I thought the ZZR was remarkably stable on the track at Pacific Raceways but not nearly as quick as the smaller sport bikes, especially with me onboard as ballast!

Bring it on out! A friend is taking his ST1300 onto the track on the 22nd. He can't decide if he is terrified, completely excited, crazy, or what. Sounds like what we all felt like before the first trackday ever!

Sweet a ST1300...
At a Seattle 100 I was talking to a guy with a R1100RT who had it out there....said the bike was incrediable fun.
