Just a thumbs up plug for the Schuberth R1. One great helmet imo. Just got mine in several days ago and the fit is phenomenal. And the noise levels for me at least are uncannily low. No DOT cert but it's not an issue for me here in NM. All in all...

Schuberth seems to be one of those companies that prove that, sometimes, you get what you pay for --

Just finished ordering a new lid as well. I tried on the Schuberth and the Arai and a few others but ended up going with a Shoei once again. This will be my 3rd Shoei in a row now. They just seem to fit me best. I upgraded from an RF1000 that protected my noggin well for a number of years and save me in a recent spill to the new Shoei X12. I haven't got the new lid - it should be here in a couple of days but I won't be able to report on it until spring.
