I bet it will have a flipping sweet price tag too.
Bizarre. Leave that shit to Vespa. Now maybe if it was a Mini-GS-Ruckus looking thing with big fat offroad tires it would be different.

It is meant to be the same price as the Japanese maxi(pad) scooters.
This type of bike is actually really popular everywhere but the US.

ooh pretty tires. I remember last year they released teaser pix of this machine. I wounder if it will just fall into the scooter pool and float with all the rest or will this really be a unique scooter experiences.
What the hell is a unique scooter experiences?

What the hell is a unique scooter experiences?
Same thing as a unique motorcycle experience.
Actually if this is a step up from the Yam Tmax, then that would be worthwhile.
That was the first scoot that had good motorcycle quality suspension, chassis and brakes, with scooter ease riding and handling.
Even my recently sold MP3 500 felt primitive compared to the Tmax w/re. to suspension and braking.

I bet it is a cool scooter.
One of the things that BMW does well - they listen to what riders want,
and they build it
.
They won't necessarily compete on price, and being cutting-edge can have its drawbacks - but they do make cool products.
Let us know when you test-ride it!

Thanks for that link - many great pictures on there. Looks really great, and I would likely buy one instead of a supermoto if I lived in an urban area.

Any word on the tonnage of these scooters? I have not seen weight listed in any of the published specs so far. They look kind of, ah, substantial.

540lbs wet.
Which actually is lighter than my MP3 500, and quite a bit less than bikes like the Suzi Burgman 650.
Butt they carry the weight really low compared to most motos so the only time you'll really notice is if you slip in the garage and it falls on top of you.

After spending two months touring Europe last year I developed an interest in a Scooter. Scoot's are very popular over there, especially in Italy wher everyone from 8 yrs old to 80 yrs old rides them, often as their only mode of transpertation. I took while for me to get use to the site of professionals of all ages commuting on scoot's........ very cool!
Put me down for a 600GT with the DCS please...... Zoooooom Zoooooom!!
Regards, Paul

WTF, that's 100 pounds heavier than my Tuono, and about the same weight as my 955 Sprint.

Yes.
My MP3 500 weighed more than my Duc St4s, with about 1/3 of the power.
But, it still was crazy fun as it was not trying to be a sport bike.
Once you understand that these things are not sport bikes, but really easy to use, really easy to handle practical bikes that provide excellent weather/road dirt coverage as everything is enclosed, you may be able to relax and breath again..
