I received this e-mail from Russell and wanted to pass it on in the hopes of gathering as many well wishes and prayers as possible. These two wonderful people need all we can give them, as the have always given to others.

"Please say a pray for Martha.

On Tuesday Martha was rushed to the hospital with a blood on the brain put the good news is that no vessel have ruptured it was only leaf throw the vessel.

The best new is she is at the best hospital in the world the University of Maryland Medical Center and. She was in there care less than 4 hours after the the leak start.

More good news.

Blood press is stable on it own.

Right side is responding to voice command.

Left side is responding to pain with movement.

Eyes are starting to respond to light.

The BEST NEWS is that she is breathing on her own. They will keep her on the respirator of sometime to make the healing easier."

Follow up e-mail from yesterday. A little better news.

Each day she show some improvements.
She following the flash light when the nurse hold her eyes open and moves the light left to right and back.
They say that is very good.

What she need now is someone to send her some get well card to the house so that I can take them to her and read then to her.

Sorry for not keeping everyone update on Martha for 10 day.
She is making improvement each day on the right side the left side not much improvement.
This week they are going to try some different type of stimulates on the left side and hopefully that will start movement. At this time she is getting occupational, physical and speech therapy every day. She can write note and color inside of the lines. Her eyes are open and looking around at thing. When someone step in the room she wave at you. If she likes you she blows kiss at you and will give you a hug when you lean over. She likes here people’s voice on the phone. If you would have time one evening give her a call on my cell phone around 7 when I am there and she will listen to you talk and shake her head yes and no to questions # 443-375-1215. Martha starting to read the card that you send her with my help and that makes her smile.

PLEASE keep her in your pray and please send card so that I can read them to her. After I read the card I explain who the card is from and she makes movement saying she knows who you are.

GREAT NEWS Martha left side is starting to move. Thursday she wiggled her left toes, Friday moved the foot up and down Saturday moved the ankle around. Sunday when I got there I said I want to see the left side move and the covers start moving at her feet then I saw movement up around the knee, I pulled the covers back and she was lifting the left knee and moving the knee left and right and up and down. Martha cannot talk yet put we write question and read and write the answers back and forth.

PLEASE keep her in your pray and please send card so that she can read them. After she reads the card I explain who the card is from and she writes saying she knows who you are.

Russell called  few weeks back.  Martha is still in the rehab facility. She continues to make slow improvements. Martha enjoys all the cards and letters from friends and can't wait to see everyone.

Russell mentioned that he and Martha still plan to host some of their COG rides, and these have already been added to the online calendar at www.cog-online.org

Best wishes to Martha for a continued & speedy recovery.
