USMC Birthday and Veterans Day Celebration Ride

This is my ride to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday and to honor all
Veterans on Veterans Day. I plan on riding from Orange, Virginia to Daytona
Beach, Florida and back in under 24 hours to complete an Iron Butt
Association, Bun Burner Gold Ride. At the bare minimum I want to complete at
least 1,111 miles on Nov 11, 2011 (11/11/11).  I will start the ride around 8pm tonight (2000 hrs for the Military Minded) and need to be back no later than my start time to complete this ride. You can follow along with me by clicking on the link below.

Following your spot.  I am just off I-95 in Jacksonville FL if you need anything. Cold ride this morning in FL.  I had 39 degrees on my way in to the office today.
Thanks for your service.

If that spot is accurate, looks like he may be a bit behind schedule for the BBG Sad - but should be easy to get the 1111 miles before 8 EST tonight. Good luck man  Thumbsup

Edit:
Actually, if I am reading that right - looks like he turned around in Richmond Hill instead of Daytona and is already on his way back. Guess he opted for the 1111 mile SS1k instead  Thumbsup

USMC Birthday and Veterans Day Celebration Ride

This is my ride to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday and to honor all Veterans on Veterans Day. I had planned on riding from Orange, Virginia to Daytona Beach, Florida and back in less than 24 hours to complete an Iron Butt Association, Bun Burner Gold Ride. At the bare minimum I wanted to complete at least 1,111 miles on Nov 11, 2011 (11/11/11).  I started the ride a 9:15pm on Nov 10th and completed it at 5:30pm on Nov 11, 2011. I shortened the ride from the Bun Burner Gold because it was just too damn cold to do the longer distance, the temps for the first 9 hours were between 38 and 42 degrees. I had to make several extra extended stops to warm up my feet. This took away the hours that I would need to do a BBG. I did take a little jog over to MCRD Parris Island, watched Morning Colors and bought a Base Coin to add to my collection for Marine Corps Bases I have ridden on.
