Time to get a headcount of how many people plan on attending so that I can give Dennys a heads up on what to expect. I'm guessing there are a couple dozen non-STN folks riding up from Pittsburgh due to word-of-mouth on Pittsburgh area moto-forums.

Note that I have options for you to tell me how many NON-STN friends will be joining you. I expect anyone that is an STN member to vote for themselves.

Thanks! Can't wait to see ya'll in the parking lot of Dennys between 11am and Noon on Sunday, April 22nd.

C'ya there.

EDIT to say I'll be there rain or shine unless we're talking about some freak of nature severe thunderstorm with hail the size of volleyballs and tornados.   Rolleyes

Garry,

I am coming via back roads both ways, like last year.  This means I will be with the group Saturday night and departing before the Big Burger on Sunday.  I am in but not to eat.  So I didn't vote in the poll.

I voted "probable +2 friends." That means unless the day is a total washout, I will be there with a passenger. It also means that if all goes well at least one bike with a single rider will come along... but if the day is nice, as many as 10 people could accompany me. (That's how many came with me on a follow-up ride last year. Most of them say they'll come this year.)

Do you want further refinement once the weather forecast is clear?

Sure. I believe I set the poll up so that you can change your vote as circumstances or 10-day weather forecasts dictate. I won't be contacting Dennys until a few days before so there's no rush to vote/RSVP.

To be honest, once we're north of 50 or so, it's a moot point. They will be crushed, but we'll have fun anyway.

I haven't come up with a plan yet.  I'll either take 322 all the way (3-1/2hrs, fast-moving).  Or maybe head north up 501 to Pine Grove, do 125 through Shamokin, then cross the Susquehanna by Sunbury and head West to Clearfield (probably 4-1/2-5hrs).    I'm pretty flexible on a start time.

Trevor,

What would work for you guys?  Is Scranton OK or does something a bit more south work better.  I think it was 2:00 when we left Pizza Hut last year and I was thinking if we could shave a couple hours off that we could spend a great afternoon hitting the back roads to Clearfield.  And still get there with plenty of time to enjoy the Crown.

Hey Folks, the 10-day forecast for Clearfield is now available on weather.com. It's looking cool but dry at this point. Anything more than a couple or three days out is a wild ass guess with weather around here, but I'm optimistic. You folks traveling on Saturday are looking to have a nice ride. Don't forget to vote if you haven't yet. I will be calling Dennys middle of next week with a rough headcount (<50, 50-75, >75). We don't need exact numbers here...

Sunday the 15th's projected snow storm may be an issue for me. Right now the roads between me and Clearfield are free of salt, sand and melt off. But, if this new storm changes all that into a sloppy, salty ride....  I'll probably cancel.  Thumbsdown

On the flip side, I was able to ride a bit today.   Thumbsup

Anywhere is good with me.We can meet at Pizza Hut againI think if we can get on the rode earlier it would be better. When we get to our meet place Rockaway mall we need to have our bellies full and tanks filled and keep on getting on to Scranton have an early lunch(anywhere) and stop for a snack sometime after. This way if the rodes aren't filled with gravel we can have a great ride to Clearfield I pm'd you. So when I typed the original post I had no idea the intestinal bug was going to hit...in the last 24 hours I've had 1.5 diet Mt. Dews, and 4 slices of toast.

But fear not, I plan to ride still.  I just may not be eating very much.

Yikes!  Get that stuff cleared out and follow it up w/ something that will plug you up.

I'm a maybe at the moment, might have to do the work thing. Let me know what your plans are, I'll join you if I can go.

Too bad you gotta work, ej!  It's gonna be a great day for riding. Banana

I've got the day cleared and I'm looking forward to it.  I have no problem heading up on my own, but if anyone from this direction is looking to pair up, send me a line.  I'd be motoring out of the Ephrata area in the early morning.   Bigok

Look in the 'official' thread - road conditions were covered yesterday or the day before IIRC.

If youre comming up here out of the east you might want to know that it`s Blue and White weekend in State College  so 322 might not be a good idea unless you like sitting in traffic.
The roads are fine as far as snow goes but we got dumped on the other day so watch for gravel.

I don't know if you're riding up solo. If you are you're more than welcome to ride with SlowDuc, my buddy Nathan, and me. We're meeting in Chambersburg at the Hess gas station on Rt. 30 between 8:30 and 9:00 located right here. Let me know, I'll shoot you a PM.

Thanks for the warning  **322** in State College
I'll adjust my plans, maybe 522? on Sunday morn.

JJ, I don't think I would make it to C-burg from Carlisle
for 9 am, but I  should see you at Dennys.

Well, I'm OUT! Replace my battery last night and took the bike for a spin and was bitten by the electrical gremlins again.  The bike is virtually dead. I've been up since 6 this morning trying to sort out the issue. I'm about to put the bike on the back of my father-in-law's truck and take it to the dealer.  Thumbsdown

Slow you have the route I planned in your GPS. It would makes sense for you and Rincewind to still meet up at Hess and ride up together. You'll enjoy the route. It will run you up right through Racetown.

Man I'm so ticked right now!!!  Mad2
