Is it worth getting a schuberth C3. I currently use the C2 and a nolan N103. I know it is a bit quieter then my currently helmets. But is it worth the 700 dollar cost of admission?

Try one on first before buying, and walk around the shop for at least 15 minutes.
Here's why - I bought one - it felt great on and off in the shop. But it has this weird hard plastic on the helmet strap wear it touches your throat after about 10 minutes on my moto I found it unbearable.
I went online, tried all the supposed adjustments, but to no avail. I've never had a strap issue on any helmet at any price before, so it was kinda shocking for a $700 helmet.
But... if this is not a bother, then this helmet is great. Really comfy, really quiet, comes with the pinlock visor and the internal dark flip down shade works great.
So.. try before you buy.
(I sold mine for a $200 loss - bought it with points from my BMW cc so I guess I exchanged a $700 in points for $500 cash).

we just got two (one for me and one for the wife) - the strap did bother me initially but then i got used to it and now it doesn't both me . it will also depend on the collar of your jacket and if you plan to wear some additional neck layers. For example, if the jacket collar is high and bulky (and can not be stowed on the side) plus you are wearing a neck warmer, then it may start to bother you as those layers would make the buckle dig into your lower chin. like i said, took some getting used to but it works fine for us now.
the main attraction for me though was the weight. it is wayyyy lighter than the nolan. you can ride all day long and wont strain your neck - something my wife really appreciates. and the helmet definitely is very very quiet. I have tried a couple of flip ups in the last few years and this is definitely the best one. I have not had a chance to test it in summer for airflow but the wind and noise protection for the current weather has been excellent.
regarding the cost - it is expensive but at least includes a pin lock. i was shocked that i had to pay around $90 to get a pinlock shield and visor for my arai xd-3. if you are a long distance touring rider then this is definitely the most comfortable flip up out there and you will definitely notice the weight savings.
you can see both of us wearing the helmet in this picture. (the bike on the left, with rider wearing a black schuberth and the pillion wearing a pearl white one).
cons: the quality of the optics could be better - esp the sun shield which is not the best i have seen
feel free to ask questions because it is a significant purchase.

Yeah, I liked the C2, so the clip design was very similar, so that will not bother me. I also run a S1 from schurberth, and the visor is ok. But there are better optically sun visors out there. I like that it is so light vs the C2. And I am mostly a long distance rider, so the noise level will be nice.

Veering slightly off-course (sorry), but has any male with a very long-oval noggin tried on the women's version? I don't need to know what else of your wife's/GF's you've also tried on.

Nice helmet, but $700 clams is HEAVY in that arena considering you replace a helmet every few years anyway.

I change up helmets ever 5-7years. I rotated between helmets between rides. So I trying to decided if it is worth the big price tag. As I can get 2 Nolans for the 1 c3.

I have one and have put about 6500 miles on it. Admittedly, I'm a big Arai fan. I've been wearing them for years and they've consistently been comfortable and light. I purchased the Schuberth about 2 months ago as I wanted to take advantage of the Bluetooth capabilities on my bike and the only helmet the BMW comm system fits is the Schuberth. F'n BMW. Anyway, while I like the helmet I don't think it's worth $700. It fits me fine, I have no issues with comfort or fit. Surprisingly, I always wore a size large Arai, however, the Schuberth large fit ok but could have been a little more snug. I wound up buying a size medium and it works fine. I might have been able to do a large with thicker cheek pads I guess but I'm not disappointed at all with the medium. It does leave a very noticeable red mark on my forehead though. No discomfort or pressure but definitely leaves a mark. I ride with my faceshield open unless it's raining or very cold so I can't speak to one being quieter than the other. I was never a fan of flip helmets but the more I wear this one the more I'm seeing the benefits of having the flip. Jusy my .02.

I flat out thought my C2 was the best helmet I ever owned -- when it was time for a replacement, my income had taken a big hit, and I simply couldn't afford a C3 . . .
If the moeny was there, I'd not hesitate -- I guess it's the difference between drink OK scotch, and saving for some good single malt ;-}

I realize the R1 Schuberth is not the same but I got mine from Fc-Moto delivered for less than $400. Love it.

I've been pondering a C3, but now I'm looking forward to the new Schuberth S2.
