Now that winter appears to be fully arrived ... We have our first snowfall warning today and a chilly -10 this morning ... Did you have one of those "Ahhhh" moments or days this year? No, not a ride report per se or DD WILL move this, but a perfect section of road where it just felt soon right ?  Share away ...  Bigok

A Monday lapping session at Calabogie where I had no one in front of me. It was in the afternoon, I think the second one after lunch. It was sunny and warm.

Twenty minutes of pure heaven.

I had some very nice rides around here...rode Hwy 6 through Monashee several times.

But the most memorable days occurred during my NorCal trip...a nearly traffic-less day heading south on the California Coast highway between Leggett and San Francisco (rode part of that with Rob707), the day-ride I took with Donna's husband Gary into the Sierra Nevada, and--best of all--a morning ride around Antelope Lake, with not another person in sight!

a) I rarely get these Aaaaah moments first thing in the morning when I'm on a trip. This year I did. Got an 8AM start from Clallam Bay, WA headed for Port Angeles on Hwy 112.  A beautiful, crisp, sunny day with early morning sunlight filtering through the trees with a stroboscopic effect. The road was completely deserted,  in great condition, and totally conducive to some serious triple digit sightseeing. By the time I hit the junction at Hwy 101 I could not wipe the grin off my face.

Several memorable rides this year but two that really stick out as some of the most enjoyable rides of the season.

Heading north from Orifino on old Idaho #7 an incredible road, twisty, good pavement, sunny morning, and traffic was non existent, I was alone for the most part of the ride surrounded by the intoxicating growl of those two big Italian pistons barking out through the titanium pipes

The second memorable ride was during the BBand BBQ with a group of incredibly well matched like minded folks on some of the best that the Kootenays have to offer  Beerchug to my riding partners of the day, I hope I didn't hold you up to much  Thumbsup

It was on the Chief Joseph hwy. Was not going very fast, the road was full of tar snakes, but it just was a great day.

2nd was on a Montana interstate with very sweet sweepers at a very high rate of speed. (Not over the speed limit though, because that would be wrong  Wink )

Didn't get to wander to far this year but I had a great day doing the six gaps ride in Vermont in August with a friend visiting from Cali.  Next best was a meandering ride to Temiscaming for the fall colors on a little CBR250R.

Yep, it isn't often I ride in a group but that ride on all new to me twisty roads was the best of the year!

A distant second was leading daughter Chere' down one of the finest sections of road in the world = CA 190 Sierras from Camp Nelson to Springville.  Chili
