...are no longer made, it seems.
Yet my friend Rue really wants a replacement pair for her upcoming B-Day. She likes the combination of laces and leather/velcro covering, and the boots' adjustability for either 'pants in' or 'pants over'.
Anyone know of another manufacturer who makes something comparable?

I like the Sidi On-Road, Goretex lined and really stay dry, but no laces. Still the best I've found that don't look like you are from a cartoon universe.
Good luck, it's hard to find great boots.

Check out Aerostich combat touring boots - they might be what you're looking for.

Alpinestars makes two touring boots with lace/velcro combo. Very expensive, but I've been wearing the Supertech Touring and they are very comfortable. Also very bulky. But given they are leather they are breaking in nicely.

Just so you know, the Combat Touring boots are about 76% of the way to a motocross-style boot. No chance at all of getting pants over them, and they are _very_ stiff. great boots, but they aren't close to the OP boot.
