Motorcycle technique, beneficial in more ways than one!
«

My wife said the neatest thing this morning. She has had a little bit of a struggle with a co-worker at work lately and she's been trying different positive ways of resolving the issue.....but today she said something really insightful. She said, "I think I've gotten target fixated on the problem with my co-worker, and like in riding, I just need to look through the corner and keep riding. Focus on where I'm going instead of focusing on the trouble." And she doesn't even ride.
I thought that was pretty cool. Obviously shows how much I yap about riding......

That's very good advice for life as well as riding. Good for her. Definitely cool.
Do listen to her as well as she listens to you? I know in my my case what the answer to that is. A lot of the time my wife's voice sounds like the voice of the teacher on the Charlie Brown cartoons. "Wah wah wah wah, wah wah, wah wah wah."

That is very insightful. Very good advice for day to day grind. I can't believe I didn't come up with that!

We all need to trail brake from time to time, but I think her insight is spot on! I surely listen to her, she's the best. The only time I plug my ears and say, la la la, I can't hear you, is when there's snow on the ground and I'm doing donuts with the car in local parking lots....she hates it when I do that.

It's a good philosophy and recently I've had to remind myself of it when trying to cope with the massive changes and frustrations going on at work. Sometimes I have to count to 10 10 times, but it works.

+1 My wife hates that too. Can't understand why it's not fun for her.
Maybe it's because all we have for cars right now are front wheel drives and i have to do them in reverse!

No, she needs to stuff him on the corner and make him run wide.

Well, he's actually a she. If it was a he, I would stuff him in a corner and make him run wide.....but after work hours of course!

And she doesn't even ride.
If she ever decides she wants to ride, there's an MSF course waiting for her.

I've encouraged her and even offered to purchase a bike. I'm the kind of guy that makes the invitation and then refrains from pressure. She just likes to go for rides on occasion and is not interested in twisting the wrist. I think the fact that she doesn't like me doing donuts in the snow is related to her lack of interest in getting behind the controls of a bike. Either way, she's the best and I wouldn't ever trade her!

Same here. My wife is one hell of a trooper. She wanted to join the club so much that she went to MSF classes in a town 60 miles away, for several days, to get her endorsement. She'd never
driven
a powered 2-wheeler before. She gained the remarkable distinction of being the only midwestern student to wheelie an MSF trainer bike into an endo on their first day. She came home with a scratched up helmet and bruises, but she went back for days 2 and 3. And she completed the course with flying colors. All she had to do was drop off the paperwork. But she decided that her MC driving days were done, and that she'd always be a pillion. So she never got her endorsement. And she's cool with it.
But she's an incredible passenger today. I believe we could both get our knees down if I pushed it.
