I routinely check motorcycle forums to find those great deals (it's why I wear my bought for $100 Scorpion EXO 1000 helmets), but how do YOU find them?  fatwallet doesn't have a motorcycle gear forum!

I know it's christmas so I'm looking out for those really good deals cause I want a specific helmet.  I wanna find the best deal and my Christmas paycheck gets a small bonus.

Wait until I buy something, then buy it the next day. It'll be even more of a deal. That's happened to me twice in the last month.

in all seriousness, it's all about being in the right place at the right time, so it helps to be in as many places as often as possible. This is easier if you're on mailing lists. Motorcyclegear.com has an awesome one.

It helps tremendously to be willing to buy last year's model. Closeouts happen frequently in Moto-land.

As Jfusaro said, patience and timing.

Right place, right time. I was in Cyclegear picking up earbuds my kid likes that we're on sale and looked at the clearance rack and found a Cortech GX air jacket I've been looking at for a 1/3rd of retail.

i mostly just watch this forum, but people don't post deals too often. course i don't buy gear too often, either. we should start posting everything we find and create a niche on the internet for m/c deals.

Keep an eye on the vendor section, many times you see people orchastrating group buys (I'm doing that right now with Gerbings heated gear at 25% off)

http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,68567.0.html

Most of the gear i have I got through group buys. But you have to be patient with some of them, I had to wait 6 months for the Russel seat group buy but then again thats a hand made item.

I find I buy pretty much everything from just a few sources, so I got on these sources mailing lists.  I get email deals daily.
