I understand I'm posting this in a fairly good sized region. This is a blog about Iowa tenderloin joints.Something to think about for next years riding and eat and greets. I think it's time to sample something other that St Olaf. And I understand why St Olaf is a good common place to meet also. It's close for everyone here.

Hey Scott, Merry Christmas.  Hope you are doing well.

I'm up for it.  But this year you need to call the Tenderloin run!

Hey Scott Marry Christmas.  Hope you are doing well.

I'm doing fine my friend.Sheri, alas is going under the knife next week for female reproductive issues..With her throat surgery this last spring and the surgery next week.I hope we can come back to what is important besides our health. I know I've not been checking in much this year, but we have had issues. Lol

It's not like I didn't want to ride.I just didn't have the time nor the bike.We always read the forums here.

As for me and Sheri? We have kind of taken the last 2 years off of riding for health and other(moving)reasons.I am now looking for my next bike.Don't know for sure what it will be,but I might run my mama over for a Yamaha Tenere.

Love you all.

Both of you, ease through the Holidays, rest, enjoy, then be ready for our soon-to-be-here riding season.

Go Scotty/Sheri, go!

If you're in Illinois, want a tenderloin but don't want to go to Iowa to get it, come down to Ottawa and get a Polancic's tenderloin. They're outstanding.

Rips is in Ladd. I've only been there once, but I thought it was way better than OK. I couldn't figure out why people would wait in line for 90 minutes or more just to eat fried chicken. Then I tried it and thought, yep, it was worth the wait. It didn't hurt any that our waitress was absolutely stunning.

Polancic's is a meat market in Ottawa, where I live. They supply tenderloins to a number of places in town, and they're freaking delicious. You can also buy them frozen from the market, and I think the local grocery store, Handy Foods, so you could take them home with you. Next time I eat at a place that has them, I'll take a pic and post it up.

Maybe instead of a coffee meet down here we should have a meet-n-eat? If there's any interest I'd be happy to talk to a couple restaurants in the area who carry the tenderloins and make sure they could accommodate us.

If you like rye whiskey as well as tenderloins a good ride to try is to Darrell's Place in Hamlin, Iowa. It's at more or less the intersection of Hwy's 44 & 71. Once you've eaten a tenderloin at Darrell's head north on Hwy 71 to Audubon and check out Albert the Bull -- 35 tons of anatomically correct cement bull Wink After ogling his *ahem* attachments, continue north on 71 to Templeton and stop at Templeton Rye Distillery.

Four of us did that ride this past Labor Day weekend. Fun times to be had.

For those coming south to Moonshine in April, there's a place called the Airport Steakhouse at the local airport that serves elephant ear tenderloins.  Damn good stuff!

Everyone looking at this thread needs to chime in.I'm all for a Tenderloin in Illinois,Wisconsin ,Minnesota or Iowa. The chicken place in Ladd is intriguing, but doing a little research makes me think it might  be way too busy(just thinking out loud).

Has any one been here?

I'm just a very short ride from the Townhouse in Wellsburg.  Haven't actually been there, but it gets rave reviews from folks in the area.  Gunder is a great option too!  Being from Elkader, I've had a GunderWunder or two.   Smile  Just let me know when, and this time I have to get in on the group ride and not just the meal.

I am up for anywhere.  Pork, chicken, whatever.  A new place or a proven place.  It is more about the people and getting there for me anyway.  Even if it is bad, it makes a good story.  Throw a dart and pick a place.  I nominate Scott as the disorganizer. :-)  Pick a few places, maybe once a month?  Some places that server pork and wine?  The Swine and Wine tour 2012?  Really, anyplace would be great Scott.

Next time people come to Peoria for the TT races you need to check out Schooner's, they used to have a pizza where the crust was a tenderloin.

I really like Scout17's thought (Swine and Wine 2012)! a monthly RTE!

Oddball- Sorry to hear that you had a temporary bout of Ed-itis, ( I think we've all experienced it at one time or another!) It's a good thing there is Ed-iting to repair any misconceptions!

Have a Very Merry Christmas everyone!  See you at the first Swine & Wine 2012 Tour!
