Unfortunately I do not have a way to haul my bike to warmer weather but I would love to get it to FL next month to ride.  I have looked at the auto train out of VA but would still have an issue getting the bike there.  Also looked at renting a van for a week from Budget Truck rentals.  Finaly looked at flying there and renting a bike in Sanford, FL.
There are some downsides to each of the options I have looked at.  I am wondering id=f anyone has made this trip and might have some suggestions on how to get a bike there or renting in FL.
Thanks.

I've ridden from Brooklyn NY to Key West FL in December before. Cold miles are not really fun but they are doable. I got to Kissimmee in 23 hours. On the way back up I did take the auto train. It's a long (17 hours) train ride but it was a cool experience. If you can, avoid riding in the coldest times of the day and it will be a bit easier.

Other then it being warm while it's snowing here in the NE, why would you WANT to ride in Florida?  It's flat, straight, and boring.  The highest point in the whole state is less of an elevation change then the drive from my house to the traffic light outside my development.

Rent a Harley when you get there. Or a Busa. Both make sense in FL.

Will the Busa come standard with the 8 foot swingarm?

Yea I know.  Warmth is the only reason and that beats not riding at all.

A few years back I shipped my Concours to the Orlando area, than flew down with the wife and spent a week riding around.  Yes, there are lots of flat and boring roads, but if you do some research you can find some very nice ones as well.   We did a few cloverleaf rides out of the Orlando area and found some very nice roads to ride.  I would never go back without my gps and pre planned routes ready to go.

The shipping company is no longer in business (he retired) and I think it cost right around $650 round trip to ship the bike. We rented a house and it was a very nice way to spend a snowy(back home) week...

If we were to do it again (winter time) we would fly and rent, either a Harley or goldwing.
