Well the video does not show the guy who got hit doing any stunts at the time at least. And how many times do you need to ask a guy that just got hit by a truck. "Are you alright, man?". Of course he's not alright

Oops, video wasn't as I had read. Posted while waiting for slow loading time.
Looks like cameraman got tagged, not wheelie boy.
Anyhow, stay safe, idiots are everywhere, 2 wheels or 4!

Truck ran a redlight. Bad truck.
I still don't think people should be stunting on public roads (at least find an empty parking lot or something), but that truck didn't stop.
I DO wonder though, that if this video is submitted as evidence, can the guy doing wheelies then be brought up on a separate charge or something for the video of him being stupid on the street....I've heard of situations like that before (video to prove one thing, but clearly showing other illegal behavior and so it's brought up in a separate case)

So the motorcyclist was riding distracted and wasn't maintaining situational awareness? I have no sympathy for stunters on the street. I was gonna say sorry, but I'm not. Glad he wasn't seriously hurt. Dumbass

Good speed and hope he heals well. May his bike be made right. I shall not cast any stones as I am sure that I have not always rode within the law at all times. I would hope that if I ever have someone run a red light strike me, that no one would wish me ill will for past discretion's.

the answer is yes, very much so if they so choose to. they may just leave it be since he has plenty to deal with and since the actual accident doesnt appear to be his fault or that the stunting contributed in any way to the wreck. from what i can tell, everybody had all tires on the ground well before the accident, and even thought the first bike jetted ahead, speed limits seem to be within reason also. just wrong place at the wrong time...or destiny, which ever you prefer.
EDIT: I KNEW IT! when i saw the driver and his reaction to the accident, i immediately said to myself that he doesnt have insurance! there is a follow up article on that news channel website that states the rider has discovered that its likely the guy isnt insured. in the original video, you'll notice that after checking on the rider, he stands up and rubs his hand down his face and looks off into the distance. that is the look of 'oh crap, i don't have any insurance, how am i going to get out of this?' its more than just a look of 'oh crap ive been in an accident'. as a long time police officer, ive seen that very look thousands of times. i hope the rider has decent insurance.

What amazed me were the negative comments following the video. They are blaming the motorcyclists for the accident even though their light was clearly green.

Was The Truck at fault? Green light is clear. But Read on ... Now, the video, shows, a very serious violation of the law. I cringe as I see this kind of carelessness on the open Highway! I might be wrong? But since when is it OK to do wheelies down a public street? THINK< What speed or RPM is needed to propel the machine on the rear tire? Is this the same as BURNING RUBBER and saying you were NOT speeding? Isn't this Careless and Imprudent Driving? I was charged 6+ points for this in St. Louis County 32 years ago? If it was a video of an assault, wouldn't the Police / Prosecutor pursue this case? I'M JUST SAYING ... The first rider, BREAKING THE LAW, MIGHT have been a distraction to the truck driver and thus, the ACCIDENT occurred to the following rider taking the video! I'm not a Lawyer or a Law Enforcement Person, BUT, You Pay When You Play! Public streets or NOT for games. Not for your movies, text, or talking, PLEASE, do that ALL, Off the Streets, I DRIVE ON! YOU might NOT care about ME, BUT I care about YOU AND MYSELF! Common sense cannot be taught, you are born with it, or learn it with time ... Hopefully before You or I are in a Wheelchair Accessible Van!

thank goodness the truck driver was not hurt!!! too bad the moronic idiot bike rider didnt learn more of a lesson.

Looks like the truck driver was distracted by the first bike doing the wheelie and didn't see the other one following close behind and ran the light. No wheelie No accident.

Watch the video again, multiple times. Pay attention to the left. There is a giant building in the way. As SOON as his vision clears that building, there is a truck there, and impact is inevitable. In fact, he even looks that way as soon as was possible. So much for your theory of "lack of situational awareness." There is nothing he could have done. You'd probably like to think you could have done better, but I seriously doubt you could.
That wheelie was harmless, anyway. Empty streets, probably a Sunday morning or something, was not going very fast, and WAS NOT EVEN PERFORMED BY THE GUY WHO GOT HIT.

Got it. My day in the barrel. Your assumptions are interesting at best. I still refuse to condone "stunting on public streets" . I take no joy in any rider getting hurt. Glad you had the time to refute the "theory".

The guy who was hit wasn't stunting at all, just filming and his light was green and he didn't seem to be speeding at all! The dipshit in the truck just ran the red light and hit him, end of story. While stunting on the street is dangerous and illegal (rightly so) it didn't factor into this at all. Watch out, those dipshits (cars, trucks) will try to kill you!

What assumptions? What theory? I'm going by the video evidence of what happened. What video are you watching, where the rider didn't see the truck as soon as was possible?

Your assumption that I believe I could have done better than the rider was hit. Yes the truck ran a red light. Yes the rider was hit. I allowed my own personal experience with stunters to let me post with some vitriol. It'll be OK, breathe. Best wishes for a quick recovery for the rider.
