I currently have michelin pilot 2's on my 99 bandit, i have roughly 14000 miles on them and they are ready to be changed. Just wondering if anyone has gotten more miles out of their tires, if so what are they?

Head over to the car tire thread. Lol

Seriously, if you get 14,000 out of a set of tires you may as well stick with them if you like them.  Sounds like most of the miles are highway miles.  The dual compound tires seem to have the mileage determined by how much time you spend in the corners.  The center's are so hard you pretty much can't flat spot them.

I drive 60 miles a day to work and back home on I 35, it is a straight shot with minimal corners.  Wink No way would I throw a car tire on my bike! I do enjoy hard corners even with the bags on I can drag my knee! I will probably buy the same tires.

I stick with PR2's myself - although I never get 14k out of them lol. More like 7K.

P.S. - not sure why this is in region 3  Lol

If you spend any time in the wet you could try the PR3.  It's, to me, much better than the PR2 in the wet.  It also seems to handle better overall.  I believe the front PR3 has a slightly different profile than the PR2 as well.

I got just under 3700 miles out of the last rear tire on the Bandit.  That was obviously flogging it pretty good but I generally don't get much beyond 5-6K.  If you're looking for more than 14K miles on a Bandit, you're just being downright selfish.   Lol  Whatever you're doing, keep doing it and be grateful that you're riding area and style afford you that many miles of fun / function between $$$.

I recommended the PR2s to a fellow coworker (he commutes every day) for his ZRX12
He loves the PR2s and got 22k out of his first set. Strictly commuting HY miles of course.

I have seen a lot more of the PR2s on the bikes at work, since John tried them Wink

I'm thoroughly impressed with PR2s.  With 9k miles on mine since June, they still look damn good and I wouldn't be worried about heading off cross country even with that on 'em.  They just work in all weather and road conditions and will be going back on when these finally wear out.
