Agreed, this guy had both. But if you watch the slow-mo version I think it's more luck based on where the deer and bike collided.

Friend of mine did that a few years ago on his R1200S. There was fur between the rim and tire bead.

Dear people with cameras...

Aim the things. That video was frustrating.

Also... Yikes!  EEK! EEK! EEK!

That is all.

Most of the "action" cameras on the market these days don't have any sort of viewfinder which makes aiming them a trial and error process.  If you want to move the camera mid ride you either have to have the position memorized or just guess at it.
