I'm surprised how little discussion this topic has garnered.

From a casual observer such as myself, it would seem to signal the death knell for WSBK  Sad

I rather enjoyed having two significantly different types of road racing series, but in the past few years, there has been quite a bit of convergence.

It would seem that, given a choice, manufacturers would prefer putting their money into one championship.
