I'm looking to get a Givi Top Case Rack for my Givi E52.  What is your opinion about this item?  Is it worth it?

Here is a link to the rack.

Thanks,

I've got 1.  It's ok.  I wouldn't put much up there.  It's pretty high and not a place to carry a load for sure.  The most I ever put on it is a wet bike cover to dry while I'm riding.

I have one.  Bungee my rain suit to it.  Also keeps coffee cups from sliding off the topcase at rest stops.

It's fairly sturdy. While I'll bet it will hold up to 10 to 20 pounds; you have to be concerned with how much the GIVI mounting rack will support.  I've carried an extra tank bag on it.  Doesn't affect handling, since I don't put much weight up there, but I can feel the difference in wind resistance.

I don't have that exact one, but rather a flat platform GIVI rack for my E45. Great for strapping a sleeping bag on, and a 12 pack fits quite nicely without
any noticeable weight issues. Great for lighter, bulky cargo when you need the room in your topcase.

I say get one, then mount a Givi base plate to it, and put another E52 on top. That would be awesome!  Bigsmile

Ok, but seriously...it's about as sturdy as you'd guess looking at it. I put a similar piece on an E50 a long while back, and I used very large washers on the inside and outside to go for max load distribution, and I never had an issue. I tied a tent and a bedroll to it and it was perfectly solid. If you do try the above idea, get some video.
