Anyone else going?  From the long range weather forecast, I may get to ride down on Saturday. Banana

I'm working the Washtenaw Community College booth on Sunday morning (from 9am until as late as noon, and then I'll be wandering around). I might also be helping out at the vintage Japanese motorcycle booth.

Damnit... I won't be going this year. I'm taking some of my employees to Vegas for a company expensed getaway since they've been working every day including holidays for the past 4 months. We're leaving on the 5th & returning on the 8th. I'm ready for a little R&R, even if it's only for four days... I'm hoping to get a pic w/ the guys from Pawn Stars!

So, anyone thinking of riding to IMS Saturday?  Looks like it'll stay above freezing Friday night, and may break into the 40's Sat afternoon!

I may just break out the GT and ride there late-morning.

I am going to go on Friday at 4PM with my son Ryan, and then catch some din-din on the way home. Saturday is looking good to get the bike out, maybe the dirtbike!

I was there tonight with my son. Ususal stuff, only thing that really caught my eye was the new adventure bike from Triumph called the Explorer. Looked really nice in person, and fit and finish was top notch.

Crowds were fairly light. I did manage to win a Yamaha hat! Lol

It was good to see some of you guys today. I didn't "work much" (got there early, sold WCC for a couple of hours, and got my free t-shirt).

My take on the show was that there wasn't much new there. I wish Ducati, BMW, Aprilia, KTM and Moto Guzzi would come back (they were all there until a few years ago - now there are only a couple of dealers and not much to see from them). At least Triumph was there. Their "Explorer" looks pretty cool. I was also amazed that the new V-Strom 650 was up on a pedestal, and there was actually a line-up to sit on one! Clearly, the adventure bike is the new rage. Only a few years ago the V-Strom was buried in a corner and I had it all to myself!

I spent a lot of time at the Vintage Japanese and Vintage Brit booths. One guy had an amazing '75 CB750 (paint job was AWESOME and I got the name of his painter, who is in R4). I also had fun with the Norton guys, and I'm seriously thinking of torturing myself with a Norton someday (if I'm rebuilding a bike I might as well do one that will actually be worth something when done). Some of the WCC guys introduced me to various chopper builders, which was interesting (there was one bike built by a former army chaplain using his army kit - he also did the cool "Jesus bike" on display which was amazingly detailed and interesting as a piece of art, whether you're religious or not).

I also talked to a Zero rep about their bikes.

Fun excuse to get out of the house.

Me a G used the show as a reason to get out of the house.  Surely miss the full show experience with so many manufacturers not present.
